Press Release

For the first time, there is an AMG Sports package for the 2009 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the CL-Class. With revamped AMG bodystyling, attractive 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels and special interior details, both top Mercedes-Benz models can now be made more striking than ever in terms of sportiness. The appealing combination of exclusive equipment features, many of which are not available separately, is proving increasingly popular with customers. The AMG Sports package is now available for five Mercedes model types.

New AMG bodystyling, including a front apron with large air intakes, enhances the visual impact of the S-Class and the CL-Class. The rear apron with a striking black insert and integrated, rectangular tailpipe trim in polished stainless steel is also eye-catching. AMG side sill panels round off the AMG bodystyling. 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels with a five-spoke design and wide-base 255/40 (front) and 275/40 (rear) tyres fill the wheel arches perfectly and provide optimum contact with the road. 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels are available as an option in a twin-spoke design with 255/35 and 275/35 tyres. Mounted on the front axle there are perforated brake discs and silver-painted brake callipers featuring Mercedes-Benz lettering; the V6 models have a more generously proportioned braking system.

Wood trim and the wood/leather steering wheel in black ash give the high-quality vehicle interior a dynamic feel. The AMG Sports package also includes velour floor mats with AMG lettering and sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs.
The AMGSports package is available for all S-Class models with a short or long wheelbase, as well as for the CL 500 and CL 500 4MATIC. It costs between 5831 and 7973 euros (including 19% VAT); the market launch commences in June 2009. In addition to the S-Class and CL-Class, the new E-Class Saloon, the new E-Class Coupé and the C-Class can be equipped with the AMGSports package.

It's not the FL.
First it would be called S-Class Coupe
Second the front and rear lights would be different
Third the steering wheel at least would be modified like in the S.
...

This is only a new AMG package.

^those pics are in the wrong thread..its just a new AMG package..
not the FL..

AGreed, it would at least have the LEDs in the front.

Since this isn't the facelift but the new AMG sport package, posts have been moved to a separate thread.

It's the new blue efficiency mirrors, and be prepared to see across the range for the all green reasons u know..:D
I don't think going green is the prime reason behind the decision to change the mirrors, rather it's the new EU regulations. ;)

The new mirrors are more aerodynamic thus less fuel consumption thus more green.;)

LOL Sure, all the Greenpeace activists that drive CL are very proud of this.:D

Do you seriously think MB would introduce these mirrors (that debuted in the C-Class & don't fit the rest of the car's design) in their most expensive coupe that only comes with V8 & V12 engines because of some marginal fuel saving reasons?

Well that what they said about the replacement of the mirrors back then along with better high speed noise reduction,u got a problem with that feel free to drop at ur nearest local MB dealership and elaborate on it..

:D

:D

Making them bigger and more square hardly reduces fuel consumption (or noise AFAIK). ;) You haven't noticed how every manufacturer is introducing their new or facelifted models with larger side mirrors? It's the new EU regulations.

Making them bigger? are u wearing ur glasses? or contacts? they are smaller dude..:D

Here I was thinking this really was the facelift this time...this has been posted several times already. I don't know why Mercedes issued the CL with this press release. The CL/S-Class coupe hasn't been shown yet.

M

^Maybe that's the case with the CL but for the C the new ones are clearly smaller than the first ones.

U really have to see both irl together to notice the size of the C's ones.

the mirrors

What i do not understand is the inconsistancy of MB. Since CL or the new S class coupe is a coupe, meaning sport in MB language, it shoud get the oval or round mirrors the sporty lines SL, CLS, SLK and new E class coupe get and not those limo mirrors.

Well, I'm glad you accept the fact that the main reason to change the CL mirrors wasn't "going green". :usa7uh:

BTW CL doesn't have a BlueEFFICIENCY model. And it currently looks like no bigger than V6 engine models will get that badge.

I only thought that coz that was the reason behind changing the C's ones, anyway they look terrible on the CL..:D
