The production of the new 9-speed auto gearbox, 'NAG3', starts September 2013, so probably debuting in the new C-Class.

according to this:

Interesting that Daimler also expanding production in its Romanian operation, 'Star Transmission, with the FWD 7G-DCT 'box being assembled there additonal to Untertürkheim from next year, and the NAG3 from 2016.

Many thought it folly for Daimler to continue in-house production of gearboxes when BMW and others were buying in from ZF , Getrag, Aisin and so on, but with this move to source more production from low-wage Romania, Daimler could well have an advantage after all over ZF for instance with its main base in Friedrichshafen.

I would find a bit weird that the new S-Class misses the debut of the new 9G-Tronic and the C-Class won´t.

I bet it will debut on the W222.

Just curious to know the 13 model line-up that Dr Dieter Zetsch has promised. I know it includes A class, CLA and GLA. Does anyone have any idea of what the rest 10 are? He also mentioned that the 13 will not have any predecessor so it cannot be the new S class or the upcoming C class.

MLC/GLC, S Cabrio, S Coupé, "Mini-Rival", SLC, R Class, G Class, D Class,...

Now that we have this out the way, the S-Class Coupe is next, along with the S63 AMG and the GLA.

Even if I hate SUVs, it would be really nice if Mercedes puts a high end interior like the one in the S class, on the GL or the upcoming MLC (or whatever is called), to finally run over the Rangies

You forgot the C, Merc1.
dtd

Well yeah that would fall under next year lol, but yes the C is coming also. So far from what I've seen in January at Detroit it will be shown to the press.

I would assume that the W205 C-Class and the S-Class coupe/cabriolet will be the next M-B passenger car product presentations.

Little has been heard/written regarding the rumoured SLC lately. Should it come to fruition-and look anything like that Autocar Magazine rendering of several months ago, it will surely be one utterly spectacular piece of kit. And an extremely worthy Porsche 911 competitor.

Yep the S Coupe and the GLA I would say should be a Frankfurt with the C at Detroit in Jan 14' and then the S Convertible sometime in 2014. That is going to be really something. Immediately though, we have the E Coupe and Cabrio facelifts rolling out in about 6-8 weeks here in the U.S.:

Just in time for summer. Mercedes' and BMW's product onslaught is why I firmly believe that Lexus will never see the #1 sales position in the U.S. again or at least not anytime soon. They're just too far behind now. Acura continues to be pretty much a local joke, if you get what I mean. Infiniti is just as lost IMO with their goofy new naming convention and lack of any real wow products.

...increasing indications that the S-Class coupe will be presented at this years IAA in Frankfurt and its' convertible derivative in Geneva 2014.

Autobild reported in the actual magazine the S-Class Coupé will be at IAA!

So we will see the S-Class Coupé, the GLA and a longer B-Class - nice.

And the S63 AMG.
