This GLC looks very dated compared to the EQ version. I think this facelift is not enough, they only change the front lights.
Fully agree, they need to change the tail lights to the same full black panel and round star lights similar to the GLE, GLS and GLC EQ. Front grill should also change to match the larger ICE models.

BMW took a bad-looking car and made it beautiful.
Thank you for putting this in writing. :p I'll try not to use it against you but I can't promise. :p

And yes, the ICE GLC isn't a bad looking car - I think it's actually a rather good looking SUV. Premium on-road image - just like W206.

So you're telling us you can actually change the appearance of a car with a facelift? Isn't that the whole idea of a facelift or am I missing the basics yet again?

I know your AI translate meant to say overall proportions instead of overall appearance, but that would also be wrong.

Wouldn't changing the proportions require sheet metal changes? Something that is extremely rare for facelifts?

That's what I'm trying to say. They're talking about changing the overall appearance, but that's not possible.

A closer look at the spy photo reveals that the grille and bumper will also have a different design.

This isn't a secret. I wrote that it's much better than before because of the changes to the front. I haven't seen any improvement in the rest. The back is debatable, but the interior is an absolute fiasco.

Well not too bad at all because this car looks like a caricature at best. It belongs in some film Noir.
This thing is gorgeous.

Don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
As a Maybach, it would slap the Ferrari Luce directly in the face, as a piece of design. Its definitely got crazy proportions, but it at least looks expensive.

The hood area is where it will count. Think of an EQS facelift where they would have raised the hood to make it flatter with a more horizontal front. It would change the actual proportions without a change of the hard points.

Yeah that's all fair. But the proportions are a bit over the top. Does look special in that pic posted by Dopey I must admit.

proportions seems to be on par with the type “w00ke” from jaguar, and they at least had the balls to do it. This as a Maybach would be a slap in the face of society.

Lost cause with that car. The other part of aerodynamic that no one talks about, frontal area, is why the front end looks the way it does. Additionally, it would make the relatively poor front visibility even worse. Not worth the investment.

But enough about the EQS. I find it amusing that we're praising heavy facelifts now, last decade that was a sign of weakness in this forum.

That car was just an example for what could be done with a facelift. No kidding this whole car is a lost cause even if its range was 2000 km it's a lost cause.

You quite clearly didn't get the gist of the conversation. We are not praising anything, we were giving examples on how a facelift can change proportions. It's really not that hard, and you don't have to change the narrative for the lulz of it.

Also, a heavy facelift is a sign of acting to market reception. Mercedes quite clearly doesn't reflect, and if they do it's the wrong way because all their facelifts are disgusting lately.
