Oh dear...solely in terms of the aesthetics...not an improvement. At all. IMHO, M-B has an exterior design problem.

But I am certain that the tech has made a big jump forwards. And that is very commendable. Here is where M-B often brightly shines.

It appears the grille is like this because it was designed at the same time as the CLA. Still, it looks much better than before.

Mercedes-Benz are not cheap. And I bet they're not having a good time with fuel prices being what they are.

American car manufacturer's can continue to be short-sighted and focus on specialty products for the American car market, but Mercedes is a European brand and will always align itself with what the EU regulations want.

Why do you think there's no other manufacturer out of Europe is making naturally aspirated V8s and V12s outside of million dollar specialty products. Its because its not worth the cost in R&D.

Not worth the cost in R&D? But they continue to fund the failing EQ cars? i don’t get it.

Why can’t they just give countries/states that don’t have regulations Big V8 Engines & Give Europeans the 1300hp AMG EVs. Not to enforce loyal buyers to buy 4cylinder Hybrids?

& now we have to be proud that an EV gets more gadgets and range?

Aside from its design, there was nothing to criticize. I must also say that it looked much better in real life than in the photos. It was a car that deviated from the classic Mercedes design. In fact, there will be those who appreciate it for that reason.

I can tell you one thing for free. They're not failing cause they don't have an NA V8.

Not worth the cost in R&D? But they continue to fund the failing EQ cars? i don’t get it.

Because that is a matter of compliance and the future of the automotive industry. NA V8s are not the future of anything. They exist for no purpose than to appeal to nostalgia.

Because why make an NA V8 for the US, and the separate V8s for other markets, when you can make a single TTV8 that can be used everywhere? Nobody complained about the lack of an NA V8 when the M177 launched with the W205 C63 and C190 AMG GT and delivered excellent and consistent performance.
Because it doesn't matter.

You don't have to be proud of anything. You didn't make it.

But yeah, I'm sure Mercedes is proud of making an EV with nearly 1000km of range.

Well, design is a very big part of a car, especially in this price range, cost cutting was also felt on the interior as its characteristic of that generation. We can talk about how high tech it is, its simply not worth the money they are asking for it.

Yep-the most impressive of intrinsic attributes are diminished should the wrapper, the packaging be off. Eye appeal matters. A lot.

I don't understand what Mercedes is trying to do. The black stripe they used on other facelift models is missing on this one. The grille is separated, but it looks very ugly. I want to see examples like the GLC again.
