Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Things are getting worse in China.

Sorry to be a spoilsport for diehard M-B fans. But I see very little chance of Mercedes-Benz rebounding in the Chinese market. Reputation and brand equity in general has been on a treacherously slippery downwards slope. Not only in China. Quite tragic, as M-B's engineering prowess and focus on innovation remains extraordinary. Sadly, those impressive credentials cannot seem to sufficiently dilute some glaringly obvious shortcomings. Those being, for example, design, marketing, management, big picture focus.

Things are getting worse in China.

i think it’s time Mercedes left trying to please the chinese.
-Diluted their brand with cheap plastics to stay cheap
-Changed their design language to please the “Big” Chinese market
-Offering small underpowered engined to stay cheap

All that & they still cannot please the chinese, it’s just killing the brand.

it’s time Mercedes cut off the GEELY connection & started focusing on it’s ROOTS:
LUXURY, POWER, DESIGN , RELIABILITY & SAFETY

Mercedes needs to do interior designs that define what a Mercedes is & not some screens to please the ‘Chinese’, they were a Rolls Royce competitor at some point & they now NEED to focus on that.

Mercedes needs to make robust BIG engines again even in the C-class. The E-class not even having a V8 is a bad idea what we’re they thinking? They need to introduce zeV12 to the current S-class because efficiency for who?🤷‍♂️

They need to also leave the blobby designs that were destined for the ‘Big Chinese Market’. Imagine designing a car for a certain type of market & that market ends up not accepting it, Let’s go back to Bruno Sacco Era of boxy & timeless designs then !

Infact they should put inline6 diesel as a minimum in that new VLE when ICE variant is available.

Competition with the i3 will be interesting. It looks like it will have a more robust design. The i3 looks nice, but it feels like a small car.

So the C EV will be technically a brilliant car and EV but terrible looking. Great.

Entry level Mercedes models aren’t really perceived as luxury in the EV space, yet they still command a significant price premium.

Take the CLA for example, it’s about 20% more expensive than a Model 3, but not meaningfully better. That’s the core issue.

They got YASA for goodness sake they do NOT need GEELY what is wrong with them?🤦‍♂️

The Geely electronic architecture is more about driver assistence, energy efficiency managment, chassis dynamics that are AI assisted and seamless device integration. YASA is primarily e-motor hardware (extremely impressive e-motor hardware).

I wonder if they can try convincing YASA to start making their own electric architecture that has a battery. Surely they also know alot about being energy efficient. They have their own MB.OS that contains NVIDIA AI systems that they can link this ‘YASA electric architecture’ to.

It could be quite a working formula really, they can break free from that market since its not working for them.
