As is the case with many chief designers, "hits" and "misses" are not uncommon. And, of course, there is always some sort of intervention by corporate, non-designer, suits.

But whatever, whether by his own choice or not, it is time for Herr Wagener to seek another environment. It will benefit him as well as Mercedes-Benz.
