I get to see every room. £120 million pound houses, £70 million pound apartments, a select few may have cinema rooms, most dont, and they dont have TV’s in every room. And where they do have TV’s id say 65” is probably the biggest.
Its a very noticeable trend, as before I worked for the super rich, I started my career going into the poorer peoples homes, and usually the poorer the person, ie state handouts, the bigger the TV.

It's probably far too late to just rip up all their production tooling and supply chain. Changing the front is basically just a facelift and probably much more cost and time-efficient. Redoing the whole thing from scratch would require jumping through all the regulatory, safety etc. hoops all over again and would leave them without a car in that segment for another 3-5 years.Looking at it with more time, seriously, isn’t there anyone at MB who has given a look to the next 3er spy pics and said “look guys, let’s get back to the drawing board. That engine has so much potential if it gets the updates from new CLA 1.5 engine such as the 48V mild hybrid with low speed EV mode/sailing mode etc. and changes to the turbos (E-Turbo etc.) to add low rev torque and response. I think the most likely way it gets updated is getting compatibility with the 48V mild hybrid system. And maybe as was previously stared, some new twin scroll turbos Or e-turbos.
There's no doubt in my mind, that with a few tweaks and a higher redline, that motor is capable of producing more power than a small nuclear reactor.

Better to tweak it, have it out there making some money and I guess work on the next generation. Probably skip the facelift for it and go straight to a full redesign.

It could do a lot more. They did limit the torque to a "mere" 900Nm for AWD. But as I said. Mercedes really should update the 9G tronic and AMG 9G MCT to handle far more than 1000Nm.The 223 is so far the only application of this engine with 4matic, it’s also the reason why I went with the M177 instead of the M279 in my A217.
With this torque 4matic is a must.

Would you believe that Gorden has been doing Sensual Purity design since 2009, so his designs has spanned almost 2 generations of Mercedes models already. Time for a change and they should go back to Bruno Sacco way of thinking....and adding another 1-2 billion in R&D. Something the shareholders sure as hell aren't going to like. At all.
Gorden is the one to blame here, yet they refuse to fire him. I hold him personally responsible for everything wrong (together with the ones in the board of directors who keep letting him do his thing). His time is up. He's out of ideas.
