They are willing to give a glimpse of the upcoming MB.OS, probably some information regarding the infotainment of the new E-Class since it will feature a MBUX/MB.OS hybrid architecture.

I thought about the new class and but it would be too nice, maybe it will clarify the ds range in the future, like eliminating the class c station wagon and the speakers and station wagon

Ola Källenius wants the Mini-G

"Absolutely," Handelsblatt learned from corporate circles, "Mercedes boss Ola Källenius wants to launch a compact offshoot of the G-Class by 2026."

If they do a mini G I want a real bare bones off road vehicle, not another crossover that can't do much off roading. They need something utilitarian to contrast to what now is a luxury item in the current G. Let’s think outside the normal Mercedes box/playbook. Make this a bare bones, rugged, with great build quality (unlike the Wrangler and Broncos of the world), knockout styling, and extreme off road ability They get this right and they won't be able to build enough of them. Another car based crossover that's tough only in styling will result in splitting an already split pie among the GLA/GLB or whatever. Make something different.

I even have the perfect name for it - GLK.

The combination of great build quality and Mercedes seems to be a rare match nowadays, Marcus. I applaud the idea of a compact real G, bare of any luxury, capable to do it’s job without turning out to be a soft crossover. Let’s hope it won’t prove to be wishful thinking. Personally I wouldn’t bet on it.

Very nice to look at, the problem I saw with the Yimny and the Niva, for example, is the very short wheelbase, which makes them bouncy and uncomfortable to the extreme.

A G class GLC/GLE size would be ideal and a sales boom (in the style of the concept of years ago but smaller...?) I think Wagener himself designed it

Imagine if the whole SUV lineup would have this theme, making it more cohorent and timeless.
Axing blobs like GLA and GLB and there we go, a complex line of SUV’s which could follow the Range Rover family. But what we have is a forgettable design for each gen, going the BMW way.

If the facelifted S class offers the modified I6 diesel engine (OM656M), they're probably going to reduce their offering to just one diesel: S450d 4Matic. Taking the price setting of the facelifted GLE into account, I wouldn't be surprised the S450d 4Matic will cost circa 10% more than the current S400d 4Matic, thus showing a base price of circa € 130.000.

How is the GLB a blob? It’s quite boxy.
