Why would they change it when the 4er is selling?

M

I don't know about the 4er, but if you look at i4 alone, while I haven't done the math, I would be least surprised if it has less market share in it's segment than EQS has in it's segment. So if there is a perception i4 is doing well, it is more an outcome of managing expectations better than actual market share performance.

That’s a silly argument. They should change it cause with a better looking front end the car might sell even better.
So they should change it no matter what because you don’t like it? Are you a buyer? Were you a potential buyer and passed because of the grille? If not then yours is the silly argument.

I get that but are customers not buying because of the grille? The tech in the EV space would be my guess as to why sales are slow, again if that’s the case. Market share is not everything either. BMW couldn’t catch Tesla in ev sales race at this point irregardless of what their cars look like

The schedule for the launch of the MMA platform:
It will take 24-30 months from the beginning of 2025 until all MMA models are introduced onto the market. This means that the last derivatives will come onto the market in autumn 2027. It starts in around 12 months with the electric CLA in February / March 2025. Ola Källenius has put a lot of pressure on the engineers, he says. In other words, the debut could also be delayed a little until spring 2025.
Do you mean the CLA EV will be on sale in the US by Spring of 2025? or in Europe by that time?

Why is silly saying if a product was better it would sell more? Do you know many people that do love the 4 Series face?

Now that you mentioned it, yes, I have been looking after a 4er for a few weeks now. And one of the things a look for is the grille to have the shadow line in order to hide its weird shape.

Styling is an opinion. That’s why. I have found that the overwhelming majority of people complaining about the grille on the 4er aren’t even remotely a potential buyer. The sales figures prove that there is huge disconnect between the complainers and actual buyers. If it was doing badly because of the grille they would be doing what Mercedes is doing to the EQS.

The amount of cars that sell well despite being an affront to the eyes is telling enough.
Not much you can do.

It's in spite of the grille basically. No-one likes it. But your point is solid and I didn't think of it; the one is selling just fine and the other can use some...uhm....stimulus.

i4 part of a product line, the 4er, which has a family face. Singling out a specific model makes no sense.

It’s a shocker here, but there are people who like it. I’ve asked a few owners at the local car wash when it first came out.

Its a sports car. Comfy, decent to drive and quick (for a non-M model). If people can buy a Nissan Juke, they can live with a 4 series. I think its ugly, but hey its a bimmer. Plenty of people seem to be buying the EQ cars as well in spite of their humpty dumpty looks too. Not as well as Mercedes would like, but I've seen quite a few on the road around Europe.

Yeah but Mercedes was looking for a breakout hit, that didn’t happen.

OOOFFF 😮‍💨. AMG EV spy shots. The proportions look amazing. Been a while since I genuinely got excited for a new Mercedes. I hope it doesn’t flop like the AMG GT 4-Door when it launches.
