Hot! Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
The main image here looks more like what the EQS should have been looking and a far cry to what a CLA has a chance of looking like.

After the EQ line up mess, it’s safer to wait and see what the new MB EVs look like.

This look modern in this view.. when it come reality it should be benchmarking in its design, tech & features, then only Merc can make it bigger hit

Based on the spy pics, CLA won’t look like this at all.

It would bet it's the new GT or a SL model. It looks like that because the pic is from far away.

Two and a half stars?...it must be a new record, I have never seen such a low score, never in this magazine, if we add to that the
X-Class - Fiasco
EQT - Fresh just out
EQE AMG - Mediocre, is neither this nor another without finding a meaning
EQS Suv - Quite important problems in ride, flotation, brakes etc.
Smart #1 - Basically they say that he is a piece of crap with aspirations and various problems to solve
C63 AMG - Sedan and touring - the last "iconic" ICE in the "CAR" posted video fails in so many aspects that they should do an emergency recall

There are many and they are all extracts of opinions and conclusions of the road tests carried out by serious publications, with easily found sources.
They should try to be at least a correct manufacturer and not a mediocre one like they are with each new model they release, they look like Chinese cars from 5 years ago, flaws everywhere and very cheapened too, disappointment with the brand

So: Mercedes-Benz, What's Next?

CAR ratings:

Smart #1: 4 stars https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/smart/-1-suv/
EQS SUV: 4 stars https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/mercedes-benz/eqs-suv/
AMG EQE: 4 stars https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/mercedes-benz/amg-eqe-53/

So if we’re citing CAR magazine, perhaps the reviews aren’t as bad as you’re saying.

It’s somewhat ridiculous you even bring up the X-class given it went out of production 3 years ago. The C63 and EQT definitely seem to be misses. As a long time CAR reader, you are very mistaken that 2.5 starts is some sort of record. That low score is for sure not their first and I’ve seen lower.

EDIT: Now I see you cited CAR for the C63 and Autocar for the EQT. Autocar gave 4 stars for the AMG EQE, 3.5 for the EQS SUV, and 4 stars to the Smart #1. So neither rag called the Smart #1 a piece of crap at all.

2.5 stars from Autocar.co.uk
Only the one for the E63 is from "CAR", the others are from Motortrend, Roadandtrack, Autoexpress, Youtubers etc. etc, I myself posted some of them, beyond the stars, they have bad comments, some in incredible aspects for a brand like this.
The X Class thing is due to its similarity with the EQT business model
