This is the Mercedes-Benz shop across and left from the Feldherrnhalle in Munich. I was in the vicinity when I spotted the small W212 E-Class exhibition they had going on. The highlight were the various E-Class headlights from different generations on display that would illuminate on and off.

I took some videos too to give a feel of the place. The best thing about this is that this place is located in a section of Munich where there are many tourists. This is therefore a great way for the car to get exposure.

I heard and saw people for example from Spain, Russia, Italy, Australia and America. They were talking amongst themselves about the new E-Class. The Australians loved the E-Class. I should have taken a video of them, maybe next time. The Americans hardly talked about the W212 but were more interested in that SLK350 for some reason (which was weird since they were a huge family of five kids and two parents!). :D

great display, using all the old e class headlights to feature the new one!

Hmmm...

I think I'm starting to like the look of this thing...:eusa_thin

By the way, the hood on that thing wasn't properly closed. I didn't risk getting into the car, opening the hood release mechanism and shutting it properly because there were so many people crowding around this thing all the time. I had to wait until I could actually get a proper people-free shot of this car. :t-banghea

cawimmer430You live in a wonderful city for someone interested in cars. I remember your beautiful photos of super cars on streets of Munich (thanks for all btw) and this time not on the road but a stationary mercedes-benz in a different exhibition. It is obvious that you spent many hours for photography, I think it is very important for making an enthusiast of photography a dedicated photographer. Thank you very much for sharings.

Thanks for those kind words. :t-cheers:

I went there again today to take even better pictures. Still have to sort through them since I took about 200. :D

Great to see a special shop for the W212!!! Love the collection of headlights…and absolutely happy to see the W211 ones!! :D Still my favourite E-Class of all time!!

You can be really glad, that you're allowed to take pictures at the dealer and here…I have to get a permission of the dealer management now - with detailed information, why I want to take shots etc… they have no idea about advertisement for free…

Can't wait to see that car,MB Egypt are gonna announce the local production of three different model lines of the new E this summer, can't wait.:D

I actually went inside and talked ENGLISH with the lady. Pretend you're an American tourist and you can do anything. :D

I honestly have spent embarrassing amounts of time staring at those headlights, trying to figure out some kind of flow or harmony between the pairs on each side.... To no avail. Not only is the shaping rigid and clunky to me which is another story, but they are angled in different directions and don't seem to make any sense? I guess I just can't seem to figure out a method to its madness, and I'm left thinking there isn't any, just a sloppy and disproportionate design. On the silver car, even the outer light doesn't seem to flow nicely with the body panel at that angle.

Maybe it's just me, but I actually have heard others comment on it.

At the plant where they make the new E??? Don't they simply drive around there yet? Or can't you go watch it at a dealership already???

Love the idea of the old head lights looking down on the new E-class as if they are guardian angels:)

For the locally produced cars no.MB Egypt makes the S,E,C and GLK classes and those usually take more time to be locally launched coz they prepare the factory and train the workers on cars before they commercially launch the cars, while all others MB which are imported from Germany goes on sale right away.

It's also the same case with BMW Egypt,BMW just begun delivering the new 7er last week to the customers, the 750LI:usa7uh:

So did you see the 7er already irl? And sat in it? Curious to read your impressions....
