This car has just one solution to not look like something from 15 years ago, blacking out the exterior to match that mediocre front.

All other combos make it as uninspiring as an old Toyota Crown. Sorry

Speak for yourself this S220 Gen Crown is gorgeous and elegant imo. One of my favourite styled sedans.

This was pretty much my exact spec, but I chose the magno Citrine Brown. 220k Euros.

I really like the front redesign. Having seen the larger grille makes the current model appear underwhelming.

On the interior, I am not crazy about the multiple screens but at least the whole dashboard appears more cohesive than before. The old screen appeared as if tacked on.

This facelift is a success in my book so far. It has reignited my appetite for the class.

@Mick Briesgau you have superb taste my friend. This brown combo colour scheme looks perfect.

I do like the brown exterior but gone here for a rose gold colour and with a lake green nappa interior and piano black flowing lines.

The interior of the S-class looks blady superb and ultra luxurious with the Manufaktur colours. The cheapness of pre FL is gone now.

If i want to be driven, i would go to Maybach instead. I configured S580L W223 and S580 Maybach last year with executive seats (maybach standard) and first class seat with manufaktur inteiror. The price difference wasn't been so big.

A lot of stufs from the back are standard in maybach version. Let's see how it will be with X223FL.

The high prices, as mentioned by @MichiB and @Satanicom, are largely driven by the Manufaktur program. If you are configuring a decent speced W223 S450d non-LWB (AMG line, nappa leather, Burmester sound, dynamic seats heated and cooled, panoramic roof et cetera, you'll end up at approximately € 140.000-€ 145.000 (after discount).
But if you're taking Manufaktur paint € 11.781, Manufaktur interior package € 11.000. Manufaktur leather € 13.000 you're adding € 36.000. If you order the rear seat package plus and premium plus package with digital extra's (mobile office) you're adding another € 27.000 in no time. And I'm not even mentioning the additional obligatory extra's you have to take if you choose the M. interior and leather package.

Indeed, like they offer for the E, C, A etc class. I included the most extensive premium package (€ 12.622) to the € 140-145.000 mentioned.

Timing is just confirmed, looks like, that I will have this week the opportunity to drive (better co drive) the new S-class on the race track in Spa / Belgium .

As AMG will demonstrate the „Red Pig“, I hope to get some information about the upcoming AMG version too.

That's amazing. Even more so considering there's some major changes on the track with these new buildings and walkway and stuff!
