S-Class (W223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift

Added to Calendar: 01-29-26

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013. Body Styles: W223 (standard), V223 (long), Z223 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach). Production: 2020- Model years: 2021-
What you report is not consistent with long term owners of the W223 on this forum.

What I’m writing are stories from our W223 customers – and in the last 6 years there have certainly been over 100 of them.
I have not yet sat in a single W223 that was solidly assembled inside and where at least something didn’t squeak, crack, or move… unfortunately.
I agree 110% with what the guy in the video is saying. The W223 is a disgrace to the S-Class name.

If any owner has had a different experience, I’m genuinely happy for them.
I just hope they’re not lying to themselves because they’re too embarrassed to admit the true 🙂

Unfortunately true. One of our family friends has a mint condition pre-facelift W222 and refuses to get the W223, lol.

YUP, This is the reality — and that’s exactly why I’m not going for the W223, even though in Germany I could get one for €1,000/month with no down payment… No way. Until they fix this disgrace, I’ll stick with old-school, or I’ll go for a Bentley or Porsche — the only two brands (besides Lexus and Genesis) that really have top-quality interior craftsmanship.

Jeez dude, new account but the same discourse? Could please go somewhere else to troll in peace?

No thanks. The SWB is perfect as it is.

They can do what they like to the LWB, but its already enough IMO.

The 7 is just so ridiculously large because of ifs EV platform.

I hope the increase in dimensions for the W224 are kept in check.

The S class is in danger of being dwarfed by the average crossover.

The W224 will 100% grow significantly. And we all know you're going to backpedal on these statements when that happens.

New members don't make 30 posts in a few days. You're not new.

LOL and who are you, that you know every single person well enough to say how much they write on the forum? This is my first time on this forum, but it’s not my first time on a forum, so I can manage just fine.
People write as much and whenever they feel like it. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Doesn’t that silly parroting about his family, the quality issues of the S-Class and the weird obsession with Genesis ring a bell? It’s that silly dude, Sonder. This must be his third account here.

Some people are simply unable to process when they are not welcome.

Go away!

I don’t know where I’m supposed to have written anything about my family, other than that we have a family business with car sales and that my parents had a W140?
Should I not have mentioned that?
The disastrous quality of the W223 is already common knowledge, so that’s nothing unusual.
Obsession with Genesis – LOL, where exactly am I supposed to have shown that??

Apparently, you’ve completely mistaken me for someone else...... :dazed053:

There was a User with a S600 V221 who loved genesis.

Which V12 Bi-Turbo Mercedes Benz do you drive?

I think its a given the W224 is going to be big.

If the SWB ends up as large as the current 7, they will lose buyers. But maybe it's not a big deal in the scheme of 50k annual sales a year.

Lots of long term Mercedes customers are finding themselves in no man's land at the moment when it comes to choosing their next vehicle. The product available is either not up to standard, or has been cut from the range entirely.

Are people still buying the SWB models? They stopped offering the SWB here after the W222 FL.

I would love to see the S class grow to a truly imposing size for this day and age of humungous crossovers and SUV galore. If the proportions are spot on like the current gen, I see nothing but win. If it only grows in overhang, we're indeed on the wrong path. The wheelbase needs to grow with it.

Most S-classes here are SWB as far as I see. Not that our market is even relevant in the scheme of things.

I understand the need for the S to grow in size and price point. I just hope Mercedes provides customers who don't need a huge limosine a proper luxury saloon or coupe alternative.

There is a need for the E class to become a small S class, instead of a big C class. And really, the E class is growing more luxurious with every gen. Give it S class levels of interior quality and they're set, imo

That also seems to be the only way to keep these relic sedans revelant; true excellence with a ride quality not possible in a crossover or SUV.
