Its funny cause in the video with Ola he says they have changed many parts and refined many parts in the interior, so could this be a mule with old S-class doors etc?

Yeah I dunno, it looks pretty obviously taller perhaps a little bit wider too.

i also think so. i doubt that’s the real deal, especially since the GLC EQ has the latest door panels.

I imagine it must be a rather bizarre time for the CEO "relaunching" a FL of a car whose successor (the W224) he has already seen and approved in its final, completed form.

Peculiarities of automotive executives

From the revealed rear seats , nothing changed. The same plastic panels are here to stay.

Same seats . Same door panels. So , the only thing changed is the front panel with the new UX

More Manufaktur options probably . This is probably what Ola meant for "over 2000 parts changed".

Meh he's an industry veteran at this point, this is business as usual.

BIG improvement on the grill, but for me a downgrade in how the headlights look like now
Agreed. I like the bigger grille. Makes sense for a car in this class.
I just have a love-hate relationship with these star shaped DRL’s. Sometimes they look so good, and sometimes look super tacky. Can’t really decide which.

Tbh, it’s really the interior will make or break this FL ,as there’s a very strong risk of it losing total S-Class individuality with screens and early 2020’s EQ-ness. The exterior of the W223 is a good baseline and is “safe” since there’s not too much that can be done with the existing design language.

Agreed. There wasn't anything really wrong with the W223 exterior other than it not being as vulgar as the new 7.

It will be the interior that determines the market acceptance of this car, because as far as I understand it's the W223's interior that put off most W222 buyers. I'm not expecting much now TBH. Just a shoehorned W214 interior architecture with a few little switchgear and trim adjustments if we are lucky. I'm expecting the uniqueness of the S interior to be lost with this FL.

It's also very disappointing to see the same black gloss panels on the rear doors of the car shown in the previews.
