Unfortunately, tests aren't always a reliable source.
You have to drive the car. I can personally say that the G90 drives better and is much more beautifully built inside than the W223.
Let’s not forget that behind the development of the G90 stands none other than Biermann himself (longtime head of M GmbH), so don’t just believe everything you read in various reviews — go drive the car yourself, then come back and talk.
The V6 Biturbo in the W223 is nothing special — loud, underpowered, and thirsty. The only proper engine was the 580 before it got saddled with a battery.
I admit, even in the G90, the V8 from the previous model would be a better fit.

Sorry i meant I6, and yes its NOTHING special.
Remember this: An S-CLASS starts with an V8, everything else is not a true S-Class.
The G90 rides as well comfortable as the W223.
As i said, the W223 is nothing special anymore, even some Chinese luxury cars have overtaken it.

The S580 has a mildhybrid system with 23 PS and the S580e is a plugin hybrid with 150 PS - both are crap with no real V8 sound, because of the OPF.
The only one, that was ok (but also not more then that) was the 580 withought battery in 2020-2022 - i think in the USA you can still get it.

This is all your opinion. The actual market says otherwise. What you believe is or isn’t a S doesn’t mean anything to anyone but you. It’s not factual. The S580 is not the one you get for sound, that has always been the S63. You’re just throwing shit against the wall at this point. All matterless. S-Classes have had 6-cylinders for 50 years. No one is buying S580e for sound. That just more nonsense. Uh. The S580e is an I6 not a V8 so why would you be expecting V8 sound? You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Unlike you, I’ve driven both, so I can easily say I’d always take the G90 over the W223.
And that’s coming from someone whose family already owned an S-Class when you were still in diapers.
But sure, the S-Class is living off its old glory — and many have already surpassed it.
