Any posibility of seeing a new tail lights like this?

Very possible. MB have changed the tail lights with almost all the latest face life so the chances of the facelifted S getting ODC inspired tail lights are high.

Well if the facelifted M-class tail-lights are anything to go buy expect something very hightech:

I don't even recall seeing the actual lights until the official press pictures, so we could be in for a surprize.

But I just noticed something: the FL W221 will have visible Parktronic sensors, why not the hidden ones like the actual S-Class? Not to disturb the new supension, also with radars?

Remember Parktronic disengages once the car moves. About the grille, maybe they just put the wrong one on. Or maybe they're working on a newer version of Distronic Plus since it's not allowed in some countries and interferes with radar detectors.

Mercedes S class facelift

They made some changes in the interior and added new technology.

^ An MB insider?

Good, BMW has enough here already :D

Dubbed the “Magic Carpet Ride” by Benz engineers, the system will find its way into luxury Benzes inside two years, according to senior company officials.

The constantly scans the road one to seven metres in front of the car via infra-red laser beams, then tells the suspension to relax or brace itself for whatever it sees coming. Officially, the sensors are LIDAR, for Light Detecting and Ranging and has been carried across from military hardware.

The real beauty of the system is that it can plug straight into Benz’s existing Active Body Control suspensions, currently standard on the S- and CL class luxury models.The computer controlling the suspension will read the Pre-Scan data and compare it with the information coming from the steering, accelerator, brake and g-sensors to come up with a beautifully compliant ride.

Corner harder in a Pre-Scan car and it shows up as a suspension system with hardly any body roll and with hardly any bumps in the cabin, either. Over stiff, sharp bumps, such as speed bumps, the system destroys at least half of the shock before it ever reaches the cabin. It dissipates noise just as effectively, too.

The system weighs only 1.5kg per unit – so 3kg across the car – but it will necessitate a new style of headlight.

^ Amazing :bowdown::bowdown::D

Indeed, this is alien technology, some serious next level sh*t. The way journalists have described the sensation of Pre-scan high lights what a milestone it is, the comfort seem to be immaculate. Drinking coffee in an S-class without spilling it, is never going to be a problem once the technology debuts. Expect to see it in the 2010 S-class.

No matter how good the system is... there is always going to be the compromise between handling and comfort. unless mercedes benz have found away to bypass physics.

When this system debuts the current active and air suspensions will all be a relics from a passing era:bowdown::D
