Not really, since the non AMG standard bumper was/is extremely ugly to begin with. It ruins the whole front for me.

That new bumper looks much better, but the dual fogs are beyond stupid. And the backlights look much much improved without those weird Peugeot 406 strips.

gotta agree..the non AMG is to plain..never liked it much
would never buy a W221 without the AMG package

They should just make the sport bumper standard. such a Stoic car like the S, needs to be strong from tip to tail.

^
I also agree with that but I don`t think I`d make the sport package standard.
This new F/L is stronger than the current one. Some owners wouldn`t want the powerful look of the AMG sport models. Thay want to keep their S understated.

Seems the LED signal indicater design is like the SLRs

I for one hate to see the body stripes go. Thay add character and style..

^I agree,i really like the stripes i hope they keep it with full LED rear lights:eusa_pray:D

just for fun..this is what autozeistung thinks the new S class will look like
haha
i hope they are DEAD wrong..cause this is HORRIBLE

Actually, if you toned that down a bit, (a good bit) it wouldn't be that bad.

I can't stand the current headlights on the S. The shape is just blahh.

The bumper styling on the C class luxury would look better on the S, IMO.

New spyphoto's.
I just noticed something interesting in these spy photos concerning the front and rear bumpers, it looks like it will be getting chrome strips on them.
You can see that there's a space cut out for the chrome inlay on either the front and rear bumper.

I always found that the current S-class looked a bit bland on the bumpers and lacked some presence in standard trim (non AMG bodykit) especially with smaller wheels/rims. In short it lacked chrome strips on the bumpers.
Maybe some of you the older members might remember that I created a poll/thread around 2,5 years ago concerning whether the S-class would look better with chrome strips on the bumpers. I amateuristic added some chromestrips on the S-class and compared it with the original as illustration.
The end result of the Poll:

Better: "Like it better, less bland and more presence"
19 votes, 51.35%

Same: "Not much difference, same to me"
5 votes, 13.51%

Worse: "It looks worse, don't like it"
13 votes, 35.14%

A majority found that the additional chrome strips on the bumpers looked better than the orginal which are the ones without them.
Would the folks at Mercedes-Benz been looking around in the GermanCarForum forums?
By the way, I'm not trying to take credit or anything. But I have to say that I'm quite pleased and suprised that they added chrome strips on the bumpers in the upcoming facelifted models. :usa7uh:

Good thing they got rid of those strange looking fog lights as well as that ''floating" bumper line

Funny that the facelifted S and the new 7er will be sporting highly similar side mirrors.

I like what they have done to the grill, it's more angular and slightly raised like the grills on the F700. Speaking of chrome strips they will be in the exact same spot as the ones on the F700.

wow the grill makes a HUGe diffrence..
im very excited about this FL:D

^Of course the F700:D

But come on guys it's a research vehicle it's supposed to look hideous:D

Really liking the FL. That grill is looking even more wicked. Want a tail light refresh...but I don't know what exactly.
