I wonder how much Mercedes are losing from not having an entry level SUV in the UK. The Q5, X1 and X3 are selling like cupcakes while the GLK is totally MIA from this market.

With this facelift this car could only become slightly uglier than it is, but anyway nothing will help it, but a replacement with something that actually looks like a Mercedes Benz.

:t-cheers:

It looks like they've changed the shape of the headlamps...I'm not sure if I like it. I don't care much for the GLK's exterior, and there's not much that they'll do to make it any less boxy. I hope they make some nice changes to the interior.

lol @ cupcakes. They are quite the fad these days aren't they Luw!

I hate the fact RHD markets do not get the GLK. What a botched engineering oversight. Has to do with the 4 matic drive system and steering packaging apparently.

But every sale Audi and BMW make with the the Q5 and X1/X3 serves Mercedes right!

That said there is speculation this will sell in RHD markets post facelift. Just as well becuase I bet they will tidy the interior up quite nicely like they did with the c. And I've alwasy been a fan of the exaggerated boxiness of the exterior.

The stylistic parallels between the G and the GLK were not equally well received by all
interested parties. That's why the designers want to make the next GLK generation more
urbane. Our design shows a striking, streamlined and more spacious proposal with
probably better acceptance.

RHD is also expected:

Wow, SO soon?

Corrective Surgery, eh? :eusa_doh:

The only thing that can fix the GLK is sending each and every one of them to the crusher. What a ghastly "Benz" (I don't even like to consider it a "Benz").

Sure, I've seen some that look "okay", or "good", but anything can look okay or good sometimes, all in all, this car is indeed a visual disaster.

It's actually right on time. As I recall, the GLK was unveiled a year after the C-Class was (January 07 vs April 08). Based on the fact that the C just got its facelift, the GLK's is right on track.

I totally agree with you about this car; it is a visual disaster. It's so angular that it seems unrefined, especially when you compare it to the Q5 and X3.

I hope MB makes some major changes in the interior of the GLK; IMO it certainly is not up to par with the Audi and BMW.

I agree! "So angular it seems refined" is very well put. There's a fine line with it comes to angular. M-B has pulled off the refined yet angular look that is their trademark so many times, but this just missed the boat.
