****** hell..i came to see if any new info came..
and i just read to 4 pages of BMW fans shitting all over the thread..

God damn it..

Go away.. its not often we see a new bentley we dont need your RR talk..

Says someone who usually comes to BMW threads to do the same. :D;)

*****

No new info on Mulsanne - Bentley officials said they will issue new info (specifications) ahead of IAA - so in a month.

While new pics from the Pebble Beach Cd'E event (when available) will be published in Mulsanne Picture thread, i guess. :t-hands:

^often those are discussion threads.. or spy shots threads..

Not a thread designated to the a new bmw..
On those i only state my opinion about the car..

We have this thread called MM vs RR vs Bentley..
I belive this crap can be posted there instead..

The interior of the bentley is so more driver focused..
Look at the RR ..lol its just not made to be driven by the owner..

Same with the MM .. but atleast thats better.. you can still drive the 57s without looking like a hired driver:)

Yes, the Bentley lacks some of that driven-by-chauffeur image of which the other two litterally ooze.

Same here. Although the MM has suffered commercial failure, the 57S is a very appealing car.

I don't think so. If I had such a car, I'd hit myself every time I see it while thinking at how much I paid for a glorified W140 with W220 technology and the flair of a fancy laptop.

I would just be happy if the RR talk moved there FROM NOW.. and we dont even have to touch the old posts..

PS
I hate half ass premiers like this.. no engine info..no interior.. limited pictures..
Very frustrating..

Bentley

Rolls Royce

Maybach

This settles it for me, the interior is not bad but we are very very far from the opulence of the old one, it seems to compete more in the ghost league than in the phantom league.

vs.

So, from now on, all talk of the competition is banned from official threads regarding a model?

No.. but if we have another thread.. then we might aswell take it over there..
And you can say 1 or 2 words..
You dont need to hijack the thread..

RR propaganda in this thread by bmw fans..is a thing that can make a perfectly normal fan of RR start to hate the brand..

Its so sad..

X propaganda in this thread by X fans..is a thing that can make a perfectly normal fan of X start to hate the brand..

Its so sad..

But this is the way it always is... I don't like it, I don't think anyone does.

Is it because you feel it's not a match for the phantom class or because you think they targeted it from the begining to be in the ghost segment ?

Eg. Ghost is only 15cm shorter than Mulsanne (5.4m vs 5.55m), and I'm sure regarding wheelbase size there will be even less difference - since Ghost has shorter overhangs.

I find Ghost interior design more exquisite, prestigious & exclusive ... and even more driver oriented.

Also the performance will be Ghost's advantage: less weight, more power, more agile.

As far as chauffeur car goes: I'm sure Phantom will still be THE choice of many.

But ... Yes, the Bentley cars will still be for the clientele who prefers a bit understated elegance over flashy & into-your-face RR cars.

Maybach? Needs new car ASAP!

*******

Regarding price positioning: I guess Mulsanne will be somewhere between Ghost & Phantom. Direct take on Phantom would be a suicide. And mind VAG also has Bugatti brand to go beyond RR Phantom - so no need for Mulsanne to do so.

But image, performance & spirit wise (being more sporty & driver oriented) IMO Mulsanne & Ghost are much more similar than Mulsanne & Phantom. Flying Spur? Lower class ...

A driver will never take a Ghost over a Mulsanne.

Ghost's error IMO is that it looks like a Phantom. This means that if you are in the driver's seat, everybody will think you're only the chauffeur...

I'll not even consider any of the non-Coupe/Conv Roller if it was to drive myself. Never.

A Rolls sedan is meant to be chauffeured.

BTW, the Ghost as the ugliest ever mirrors. No other car has such enormous-looking jumbo ears. Shocking. Ruins the (otherwise pretty nice!) front of the car.

The interior of the Mulsanne definitely can't stand the comparison to a Phantom, from what I saw. Much more Ghost league.

The object of the Ghost is to change that impression ... :usa7uh: ... yet still ooze that typical RR spirit.

Regarding the design - yes, RR cars are not for the pure-traditional-old.style-elegance lovers. :D

^ I'm laughing at the posts in these two threads!

Ghost has ugly mirrors, possibly. But dang, the Bentley's got one of the most daft looking faces I've seen on a luxury car in a long time.

I'm sorry, I'm not a fan of any of these cars by any stretch of the imagination so I could care less for any of them. Still, I can't help but feel that the Bentley is ugly and incongrous looking.
