Maybach 62/62S Maybach 62 S Landaulet Concept

The Maybach 57 (chassis code W240) and 62 (chassis code V240) were the first automobile models of the Maybach brand since its revival by DaimlerChrysler AG (now Mercedes-Benz Group AG). They are derived from the Mercedes-Benz Maybach concept car presented at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show. The concept car was based on the Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class sedan platform, as were the production models. The models ceased production in February 2013 due to continued financial losses for the brand, with sales at one-fifth the level of the profitable Rolls-Royce models.
The more I see it, the more I want it...:D
This is the only recent limo that appeals to me. I even think I would hesitate between this and my beloved 1960's Rolls-Royce Phantom V.. :icondrool:bowdown::eek2:

Thank you so much Maybach for this car.

This is pure dream. No other car can make you feel that.
Just imagine you in that car...

You sit here, comfortably driven by Georges, in your incredible seats... You see the sky, it is blue... You feel the sun, it is warm...You feel the wind, it is delicious... You think to nothing but to enjoy the moment...

Well done describes!! :t-cheers: Only problem is, when you want to drive the car... :D ...but for people without driving license or those who don't really like to drive - this is a great car! But like Bruce already mentioned, I'm not a great fan of it! The idea is okay, but I don't love it!

Well then, you and Bruce are dream-proof... :D

I also like the idea of the black front space and wonderful white rear space, it is something you also have on some old Rolls-Royce or Daimler.

The price would be, according to a MM official quoted by Automobilwoche, around one million €uros.

This is officially my next car. If I can find one million somewhere, of course...:eusa_doh:
Do you think selling my Golf will be enough? :eusa_pray

Maybe the pre-owner of your Golf was also Pope Benedikt XVI?!! :D Then you could have a little chance to get the money for your new car! Just notice, that the Maybach Landaulet doesn't have ventilated reat seats... :t-hands:

I have to say I like this. Super-exclusive and the openess seems to balance out the odd proportions of the 62S. Over a million USD, yikes! I'm sure there will be more than 20 people who want one though. There is nothing else like this. This could be just what Maybach needs imagewise, if not in outright sales numbers.

This kinda works out. Maybach gets this and Mercedes will get a full convertible 4-door the ODC, aka S-Class for 2010.

Well, I don'think but it is worth trying...

But I have a better idea: I will become rich and famous, with millions of fans, so that I can sell them my Golf for one million euros!!! That is a brilliant idea! :D

For the seats, how do you see that? there are already more buttons for one seat of that Maybach than in my entire car, including my CD-player...
BTW even if it does not have it, it has a ventilated roof, and it is much much better! This is only a Concept also...for now!

It's still a Mercedes! ;) Normally, the button next to the seat-heating is reserved for the ventilation!

Damn I'm in love with the backseats. This car is a yatch on land. Royalty and Sheiks are going to eat this up. What a fabulous concept, to bad it could have been used on a better looking car.

I can see this car being a hit in the Middle east and Miami. Not sure bout the rest of the world.

I actually like it (and I am not crazy about Maybach's at all...).:usa7uh:

It does look very classy and expensive in that white color. I'm sure there will be buyers out there who are looking for something just like this. And the fact that you can cruise with the top "open" must make it at least somewhat interesing for the Middle East, eh? :D

Well, there will certainly be buyers in other markets who will find this car very interesting, even if their climate isn't sunny and warm 365 days a year. :D

I guess tastes differ... I always get the impression big white cars have the pimp-mobile thing going.

but belive me.. that back seat is probably the finest place you can be in any car on this planet.. and thats a fact..

BS, major BS.:eusa_danc Oh, did i say it's a BS? Yes it is.;)

I'm loving that white/black combo and it definitely leaves me speechless, but finest place on a planet, 1st one, no competition, that a fact??? Let me tell you something, Bentley Brooklands, despite being totally different concept, is MILLION years ahead of any available, soulless Maybach that MB offers.

Or like this: Maybach, in this trim, with all options and everything it offers... Still ain't worth the Landaulet name... And in this trim - it will never be worth!

Just call it like this: Desperate try of MB to make MM successful...But they've failed.

You can **** on it, call it whatever you want, but just go few pages back and check monster's pic; that's the real deal, not this Made-for-50 Cent-pimped-up-shit...

:t-cheers:

Wow that was rather harsh. What do you expect them to do? This is better than nothing or just letting the car wither on the vine. I like it. In a different color scheme it has the potential to be a real hit for Maybach IMO.

M

What's harsh, Marcus? The thing that i consider it just another pimped-up MM or not being worth Landaulet name?

:t-cheers:

Your reaction to this car reminds me of those who don't like the Bentley Continental GT....lol.

M

Like yourself? :D;):usa7uh:

Man, don't get me wrong here; i've learned a lot (thanks to you MB stalwarts :usa7uh:) about historic MBs that were the symbol of the brand and everything they stand for, especially with cars like this caliber (Landaulet). Those are the cars that i admire and those are the cars that no other carmaker can even get close to.

Noone can question the quality of this car or effort put in it, no doubt about it...

Marcus, you're a guy with great knowledge about your favorite brand and you're also very objective, so tell me, plain and simple: do you think this car is worth of Landaulet name?

:t-cheers:

Mercedes-Maybach

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
