M5 finally arrived.... serious piece of kit.

Well the big day arrived for the brother in the form of a transporter delivering his new M5 and I was the lucky one to get to drive it first as I had to go to the local Tax office for another matter.

Just one pic so far as it's pissing it down here but all I can say is it's one serious piece of kit, I thought the steering wheel in the regular M/Sport models was good but this feels even better if I'm not mistaken. I love the HUD which is probably a necessity given the way this thing gathers pace. LOL

Will hopefully get you more pics when the rain dies down.

Too fast fot you to handle :D name of the color?

In this weather I would definitely say yeah you're right, as ACE said the little DSC light dances on the dash like morse code.

The colour is Monte Carlo blue, I think it's the colour you'll see most in. BTW in my opinion these are the best rims looks wise, they add an aggressiveness to it's looks that the silver ones don't have.

Looks very familiar!

Congrats, to your and your brother. You'll need to wait for the roads to dry out to find out what it is really like.

My car does 0-60 mph in less than 7 seconds and goes past the speed limit pretty quick to make my driver license to be in danger. With 560 hp its going to be almost impossible to drive within the legal speed limit. I feel you will never be capable of exploring this car fully without going to a track. Does that make you sad? :D

Does it make me sad?

No why should it, the car feels so different to that of a regular 5 series that there's enough enjoyment to be had in that fact alone. It reminds me of driving any RS or AMG I've had the pleasure to drive in that it feels special, I can't put my finger as to why these cars feel this way they just do.

Thanks mate, yeah I'm sure I've seen one identical on here not the other day. LOL

Oh and too right about becoming familiar with the DSC light, the slightest touch of throttle brings it to life but I'm sure when the weather improves I'll be able to explore more of what it has to offer. Now he's got his I'm even more eager to get my own Black Beauty.

Special is one thing but you have to agree you will never be able to explore what this car really can do, unless you go to a track. I bet you if this car had 400 hp , it would still be powerful enough. Don't get me wrong, it a special feeling to know you got a lot of power under your foot but somehow 560 hp is overkill these days. This summer I'll be taking lessons for a motorcycle and my upcoming bike is doing 0-60 in 3 seconds and 0-124 mph in less than 10 seconds but I doubt I will ever be capable of try it out unless I get reckless.

Without sounding like a moral-bitching-lady its crazy how powerful cars are these days, don't you agree? :)

^I couldn't agree more with you Andreas, cars outputs have gone off the scale but this is the present market we find ourselves. The problem with this kind of power IMO is not that it can't be used because it can, no the problem is using such power will get you into trouble very quickly either life-threatening to you or other road users or possible prison term.

What's needed is controlled restraint. :D

P.S.
I'd never track a car of my own, the kind of abuse endured on a track isn't the kind of treatment I'd like to subject something I own.

P.S.S.
Try doing 0-60mph in 3 seconds on a motorbike it isn't easy and certainly not as easy as it is in a car but nothing gives you the thrill like a bike so if you do get one please ride safely as I know to many good friends I've lost due to motorbikes.

Though I couldn't get a pic of the HUD on the window it does deserve a special mention because of all the things it does. It's truly brilliant and something all cars should have but not.

P.S.
Driving around the town isn't half sore on fuel, thank goodness it's his fuel bill and not mine. LOL
