They should make a regular series but small quantity C63 in W204 form, it would sell ... might give the new M3 a bloody nose too...until the CSL version comes out...

I too can't see 500+ hp in a C-Class, just too much power for that size of car imo. Traction is going to be like the "65" AMG models - lacking.

That said, why the hell not make a C63? It will provide valuable insight and development knowledge into the next generation of the car.

The only thing is though is that the C63 should be hard core like a CLK DTM. Forget ride comfort and what not and make this thing a track car. Since a manual isn't going to be part of the deal they could at least give it a true track ready chassis.

A perfect sendoff for the current C imo. It will likely be a rare produciton, hard to get model that will be great like the CLK DTM AMG.

We should know something by the Detriot show in Jan or Geneva in March because there isn't much time left before the new C appears.

Could be, but why would they be testing a C-Class after the facelift and during the final 18 months of production?

With the E and CLS I could see where everyone was mistaken because with those cars there is an impending facelift so they're likely the "63" models or we simply don't know what they are.

The C on the other hand is pretty much done so there has to be some reason as to why they're testing it again. I'd say this C63 is going to happen, but in limited production and most likely for Germany only.

Never thought about it that way. Yeah the G55 is a end-run finale type vehicle also. Though it most likely didn't require as much develpment work as a C63 will.

G55 AMG is on the market for how much? Two years? The car in the spyshots maybe just a mule for new C class.

but limited edition, sounds expensive if its true. I might rather choose E55 over this one cause C-class isnt pretty.

After seeing the RS4 in action I think Mercedes just might do a C63 with the current C-Class bodystyle as sort of a preview for the next generation car. Hopefully the next generation C63 will have a manual tranny as an option.

but why 510hp? Its going to cost a lot, a lot more than Rs4, give the car 430hp and make it more driver-orinted and give the car a more resonable price. That would be enough.

268hp already feels pretty good, 510hp in a SLK would be insane . i really doubt they'll give it the full 510 though, that would upset the owners of the higher end models like the AMG version of the SL.
