And guess what, the results are surprising!

FIRST PLACE: AUDI Q5 3.2 QUATTRO TIPTRONIC
If you love flogging your sport sedan but want more utility, this one's for you. From styling to performance, the Q5 is unmatched. The investment is high, but so is the return.

SECOND PLACE: VOLVO XC60 T6
Test-leading power and torque back up the broad shoulders and aggressive off-road stance. A safe yet stylish value statement but with less of the Audi's refinement and driving flair.

THIRD PLACE: LEXUS RX 350
For the list-checkers, it has almost everything-smooth ride, air cooled seats, a roomy cabin, and a future proof infotainment system. All it lacks is a soul-stirring drive.

FOURTH PLACE: MERCEDES-BENZ GLK350
A compact, comfortable four-seater with excellent chassis dynamics, which is completely betrayed by indifferent steering. Shame the striking looks don't match the handling.

Went with Q5 closely followed by Xc-60! Rx looks fragile'n'fugly & Glk is another weird Merc!

I'm very impressed with Xc-60's figures & performance! However, Q5 proved to be the best in his ring!

ODD to say the least. MB's steering has been praised in recent times as being equal to and in some cases better then BMW set ups. The same cannot be said about Audi.

My favourite in this test is the XC60. It is a great car with good looks. Second is the girly Geländewagen. Both the Audi and the Lexus are out of the question due to looks.

None of these cars are meant to go any more offroad than a short blast on snowy backroads and this has influenced my choice.

The Audi and the Merc are the best looking IMO. I'll take either with a diesel and in dark green, thank you.

Weird. Every other GLK review has stated that the steering is pretty responsive and sporty for a Mercedes. So what's the problem here?

GLK for me, followed by the Volvo XC60 and then the Audi Q5. Lexus? Not even on my list...

Yes, I agree.....Toyota/Lexus was too eager in their marketing way back with their RX in the comparison stakes....

Volvo and Lexus over Mercedes.........

1. MB GLK - Good looks
2. AUDI Q5 - Wonderful lil suv
3. Lexus - Ahh it's ok, but nothing special (I think of it as more of a M-class competitor
4. Volvo - Good safety...but I hate the seat belt grill/symbol

I'm suprised they didn't include the X3.

And it is good to see the Lexus is being compared with Q5 and GLK now, not not with Q7 and ML.

Actually given it's size the RX is a ML competitor. Might not serve the same purpose or function, but it is very similar.

Im starting to warming up on the XC60. I was against it in the beginning but now I like it. The exterior is better than the competition.

The GLK interior just looks to be a couple of steps behind the competition. Too much plastic, too many shut lines, to many weird shapes and angles coming together and just looks old.

Hopefully the steering can be and will be fixed in the facelift.

Q5 or GLK would be my pic , i don't like the interior of the XC60 at all and RX is a bit bland...
