Toyota is recalling around 214,500 2006-2008 GS300/350, IS250/350 and LS460/460L sedans over potentially faulty fuel delivery pipes.

The Japanese automaker is working with NHTSA on the US recall, which centers around fuel pipes that can corrode, eventually resulting in a leak. The problem reportedly stems from certain ethanol fuels with low moisture content that can lead to rust, occasionally (but not always) triggering a dashboard indicator lamp indicating a system malfunction.

Affected GS, IS, and LS owners will be contacted about the recall via mail, and Lexus dealers will install replacement parts at no cost.

This is hardly Lexus's fault. Their cars are designed for petrol fuel only, and not for ethanol fuel.

They aren't saying it's for ethanol fuel, rather fuel with an ethanol mix. For example, most Petrol Stations in California have a sticker on the pump saying that the fuel contains a 10% mix of ethanol due to emission standards. Even so, it's no Lexus' fault because this should have been researched by the supplier of the pipes.

This can happen to everyone, even Lexus. In this case it's clearly the fault of the suppliers.

The only difference in this situation is that when this happens to a German manufacturer the moronic Lexus fanboys try to make it appear as if it is the fault of the German car brand. :t-crazy2:

Just look at Autolies and Club Lexus...

So how are they reacting to this news over there? Also, what do they think about the new Lexus Prius?

Have not checked yet. I do remember them making up so much BS when there was a recall for German cars etc.

I'll visit that place later to see what dreamland is feeding their feeble minds. :eusa_clap

Also, what do they think about the new Lexus Prius?

It's a 50-50 situation over there. Some of the more mature members despise it claiming it looks like a Euro Toyota Avensis and that Lexus really doesn't need this car.

The fanboys on the other hand are already taking about how "the HS250h looks better than a BMW 1-Series and is cleaner". :t-crazy2:
