My GOODNESS what a miserable front end. I thought BMW were over making such oddities up front, this is like a perfect evolution of the pre-facelift E65 front quality. This thing will look 10 years old in just 2-3 years.

Could be a light pressure turbo. 250nm is more then sufficient to power the 1 series, and the the maximum torque will probably arrive very early in the rpm range. Hope this new 1 series won't pile on the weight.

The MINI Cooper S, 175 hk version, has 240 nm from 1.6 litres. I think it is in line with expectations.

Most probably capped, to give the impression max torque arrives early, when in fact it could rise quite a bit. A remap will sort you out...

It's not beautiful... It's not hideous either. I actually rather like the front end, certainly beats the front end of the last one that looked bad from every angle. I think that the next A3 will kill it in the looks department. The A-Class, well we'll see. What we've seen so far doesn't show it looking much better than this. I'm sure heaps of people will buy it and love it even though it kind of looks like a sloppy mess from many angles.
