Report Lamborghini 2020 plans

Doesn't help that it also uses/is based on the Sian drivetrain, which is already based on the Aventador...

What can Sian owners have now? No exclusivity or special tech for sure. Basically a body-kit Aventador...

Lamborghini are following Bugatti's playbook.

The NACA duct on the side should not have been THAT massive, otherwise it's not an absolute terrible one-off hommage to the Countach.

BTW, I doubt they'd introduce a new platform, engine, etc. to a one-off. In this day and age, I'm just happy that thus far they've at least committed to a new V12 and platform for an Aventador successor.

It's real In limited production-disguise!
Note that it uses different bumpers compared to the concept. These are from Huracan Evo RWD compared to concept's Performante style bumpers with a wide-body extensions.

Double post, but really important update regarding their plan for the next years.

That part about Huracan replacement sounds like insane alien technology.
"Because our sources point to an engine Lamborghini has developed itself (i.e. not a derivative of an existing Audi or Porsche engine), redlining at 10,000rpm and fully prepared to run on synthetic fuel."

Lol. I don't believe this at all.

sad about the loss of a V10 for a V8, but there will at least be a V12. and at least the V8 sounds like it'll be NA due to it being characterized as high-revving.

As presented last May, this will be "The Direction Of The Bull".

Car Magazine illustrator adding some "crazy sauce" to the Audi AICON Concept and creating an "Estoque/Espada" sort of entry:

It's f***kin' far out

Yeah, sounds a bit like Lamborghini fanfiction... "Fully prepared to run on synthetic fuel?" Yeah, no shit, the whole point of synthetic fuels is that they are the same as today's fuels. And if they were committed to an NA engine, why go V8 and not keep the V10? That said, since they are creating a completely new V12 for the Aventador, it would be pretty easy to just take the combustion simulations and so on and graft them to a new V8/10, reducing development costs. Still, I doubt it'll go 10k RPM, even if that would be great. We'll see...

More news! I don't think we have ever had this many updates and specific plans from Lamborghini before...

- Stephan Winkelmann wasn't very satisfied with the Countach revival cash-grab. He wants to focus on futuristic one-offs that offer unique tech and design.

- He also officially confirms Huracan Sterrato. (Doesn't mention Tehcnica aka the final model of Huracan.)

- 4th model, the 2+2 EV will be a high riding vehicle. Not SUV like, but think Espada/Urraco height.(rumored for 2028 launch, with development starting by the end of this year.)

-Urus replacement will be fully EV.

Auto Express - Plug-in hybrid Lamborghini Huracan replacement due in 2024

Not much new info, but it seems the car might keep its V10, although it's gonna be a new unit (still a speculation, though).

One interesting thing is that now with the R8 no longer being produced the Huracan successor will now share a lot of parts with the Aventador successor, in what they call a "Lamborghini platform".

Winkleman spoke of using “common parts as much as we can together with the [next-gen] Aventador… the platform is a Lamborghini platform,” describing the next Huracan as “a car which is benefitting from the bigger brother”. When asked if this set-up could involve the 5.2-litre V10 found in the current Huracan and the R8, he instead confirmed that the plug-in powertrain will feature a new unit.

Previously, Rouven Mohr told Auto Express that the new Huracan will be a plug-in hybrid featuring an engine of “more than six and less than 12 cylinders”. Judging by our more recent discussion with the R&D boss at the launch of the Urus Performante, we’re confident it’ll be a V10. “It’s not a range-oriented hybrid and there will be no kind of downsizing,” he said, adding that it’s against Lamborghini’s philosophy to reduce the engine size and then “compensate” with electrification as some rivals have done.

I do wonder which parts will be shared between the two cars. Obviously not the engine, and almost certainly not the monocoque. So it's probably safe to say that the Huracan successor will come with a new, maybe CF, chassis. The parts that might be shared might include the gearbox, the electric motors front and rear, and the battery. I imagine a lot of the electrical architecture will also be shared, as well as a lot of smaller parts. The engine, although not shared, might be based on the V12 unit, at least as far as combustion design goes. Either way, can't wait to find out!

Does the same platform imply that the Aventador and Hurecan successor could be built on the same assembly plant?

My guess is that they will share gearbox which will be a dual clutch one. I can't imagine a sequential manual gelling well with electric motors.

Interesting bit of news indeed. That downsizing quote could be misunderstood. Everyone else reports TT V8. The part sharing thing will likely be towards interior and other minor parts.
