and high pressure predicted over the UK - or the bit that two-thirds of the real population live in - South East - for this month
means, power cuts, before even we go properly into autumn, post Sep 21st.
We're already sending 2 or 3 GWs to France on the interconnector - or one way at the moment.
French nukes had helped in past few years to bail out the UK, post its own run down of its nuke fleet, from ~8 GW a decade ago, to 4 or less GW now, and the smashing up of coal-fired, when high pressure and freezing temps hit - no wind or solar.
What happens when that goes into reverse, EdF throwing money at National Grid or HM Govt to send a few gig south?
The French have the money, relatively, with Macron just announcing another large package, €20bn, to reduce fuel price further, abolish TV licence etc. UK hasn't.
You can throw money at EdF, Drax etc, a few £billion, to keep open one or two coal-fired plants, and similar money at owners of 'emergency' diesel sets but that's just frigging around the edges, adding max, ~3 GW. If France is pulling that, and not sending up to 3 GW, and there's no wind, and it's dark, overcast/foggy, what then? Power cuts.
Rationing will be done to those stupid enough to have had 'smart' meters installed - under massive coercion.
Hence the diversion by the BBC, all the media, on the Games, the women's football, the nailbiting Tory election, anything but the collapse of UK as a first world, advanced country, resembling instead a country in Africa, not even South Africa, with rolling, unpredictable blackouts, and break down of law and order - what there was
