Joy Defines the Future. BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.

You can't say that. It could very well have been a last minute cancel, yet telling the media (you, BimmerToday) that it was never planned.

We will never know. M3 GTS was presented like a year before it's launch too. Could have been the same for the M1.

Good point, but I guess I can trust those who told me about it. But I agree, I can't be 100% sure.

Well, keep up the good work on your site man! I check it every day.
And since we're having this conversation now, I saw you mentioning the F12 as cabrio and F13 as coupé version for the 6er. What about that, or was it a typo (I saw it in different articles, so it got me curious)?

1. Thanks :t-cheers:
2. Well, I got told by different sources that the naming convention we are thinking of (F12 coupé, F13 convertible) was wrong and some weeks ago I got told that it will be just the other way around - F12 for the convertible and F13 for the coupé. So it is not a typo, but I am not 100% sure as well. At the moment I believe that the coupé will be the F13, but I wouldn't bet too much money on it. There are other websites telling the same story by the way, check this site for example. We'll see :-)

Interesting!

Maybe they really are going to launch the cabrio first (which I doubt), so naming the coupe F13 would make sense if that's the case... :t-hands:

We'll see/know soon enough :)

Well, Bimmertoday has provide us great info, such as the 6er would be soft top, or it was bmwblog?, anyway, it´s really interesting to have these forumers here, as on the latest spypics we have seen the 6er cabrio with the much rumored soft top.

I guess I've been faster than Horatiu in this case ;)
According to my sources we will see a similar design like at the E64, don't know how you call it in English, but there will be an upright window in the back of the softtop and the roof will be formed very similar to the E64. If my sources are correct we will see the F12 (?) convertible by the end of the year, the coupé will come in 2011.
We'll see :t-cheers:

Just be patient :-) It will be worth waiting :-)

Are you talking about the Concept in China?
Or the Concept for the Villa D’ Este at Lake Como within the
Concorso d’Eleganza?

So what is your opinion? Do you like?

The soft-top uses the same twin-buttresses as the E64. As I mentioned before both options are being tested and evaluated and I do not know if they have decided on a conclusion as yet.
I reported what I had saw initially.

The Coupe will be launched first (Maybe your source got mixed up regarding testing prototypes) It is more normal to release a Coupe ahead of a Cabrio , My documents relating to the Coupe refer the car as the F12 , as said before "The best test for a Coupe is if it can be made into a great convertible" not the other way around.

The Coupe comes first as we are in our location scouting phase with a planned trip to Valencia on Monday for a glance at Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela's magnificent architecture as a backdrop for the new 6er or the refreshed MINI's.

We read Bimmer Today possibly more than BMW Blog (Sorry Horatio but we are as they say "German":D) But you are fourth. In regards to a previously asked question , the most read in the office are: German Car Forum , M5Board , Bimmer Today , BMW Blog , BimmerPost , BimmerFile , BimmerFest, 1erForum.de, AutoSpies.

But in terms of industry it is Automotive news that reins above.

The Best MINI online media is Motoring File , followed by MINI2.

Could it be that mysterious clay model that we thought was the 3er Gt / 6 er GT ?

The looks of this car are much more conventional, even when the cover up you can clearly see it. Be careful, it´s on the bimmertoday page but in reference to a BMW City car. If someone asks me, I would say the car under the plastics is a 6er.

Having said that, I am convinced what we are gonna see is a revival of the CS, if it not the case then I can´t read between lines as good as I would like to.

hahahha I dunno....I have to dissagree :)) from what I hear, BMWBLOG is on the first page every morning, across BMW AG, BMWNA and other countries :))) We were def the first ones to start an online related news magazine, we changed this game and then decided to launch BimmerToday and BMWBLOG.ro :) Our resources within BMW are very high and we can't always say what we know so we can protect our sources :) I learned about this concept at least a week ago and kept quiet :))

Truth is that we're becoming very big and what we post has a lot of influence within BMW AG, at least a Communication level :)

And yes, embargo expires tomorrow morning and you will see it all on our two magazines, BMWBLOG and BimmerToday, we share all the info.

You can't say that. It could very well have been a last minute cancel, yet telling the media (you, BimmerToday) that it was never planned.

it was never planned....never. And whoever I asked, is absolutely trustworthy and there is no relationship BMW-Media, but simply person to person

:) that was us this time, but Benny also gets lots of info thru other channels. We actually learned that 2 weeks ago, BMW flew executives to Germany to show the new 6er. Luckily, some of our readers are actually private pilots :)) and we learned from two independent sources that yes, soft top for sure.

And you're welcome, we try to help with what we can, EDIT by myself: irrelevant to the topic. :)

bottom line, be patient people :) the press release is quite exciting and all I have to say is this: BMW is Back!

That's exactly what I heard from several sources, so I start not to believe it. :D ;)

Some of the spy shots hinted at a soft top for quite some time.

And you're welcome, we try to help with what we can, but other forums banned us for simply replying, even under our own names. Oh and we don't post any links there, but still banned....
I take offense at this comment. This thread is not the right place to discuss your contribution to other forums, and maybe you aren't even referring to the forum I think you are, but I encourage you to send me a PM if you feel the need to discuss this.

In case you're still talking to me, when does the embargo end?

Best regards,

Of course in Beijing there is the ECHO and there is... Are You excited yet?
It is going to be an exciting weekend for BMW fans.

Mercedes-Benz should have kept the Shooting Brake under wraps...;)

So you are going to do it a la Porsche 918 ? Ladies & gentlmen, this is the 6 series concept, out of nowhere. :D

South, no need to discuss, I tried thru different channels and failed, and I won't name anyone :)

It's ok....as you can see here, we only contribute to help the community, always do. Calling us spammers and other things, it's just wrong. We have a VERY large traffic across our network and we're not looking for traffic, but rather recognition of our news, some of them, pretty amazing, especially the high level interviews we did.

But anyway, this is not the place to discuss the subject nor it concerns the forum members. Love to contribute as much as I can and yes, sometimes we are wrong :) but not intentionally.

I will PM you when the embargo ends, can't post it here yet. But early morning.
