As you know BMW have announced that between now and 2015 they will bring 20 new models to the market covering a vast range of segments.
With the future growth of the small compact city , Premium Compact and Premium Entry segments in the minds of the product planners. BMW will unleash a greater majority of models based on this model matrix to increase it's volumes in the Premium segment.

During this time , BMW will bring forth it's philosophy with such groundbreaking concepts such as the BMW MegaCity Vehicle and BMW i8. Which is the term for the production car of the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept car.
To be introduced under the name BMWi.

Given BMW's immense presence in the larger Premium market new models such as the six generation BMW M5 Performance Sedan , BMW 6 Series Coupe , Convertible and Gran Coupe along with a Premium Roadster will ensure that the premium segment is not forgotten.

2011 is a Unique opportunity for BMW to begin it's first all-out assault on the rising Premium Compact and Premium entry segments as the year will be closed by both the new 1er Sporthatch and BMW 3er Sedan replacements both intent on redifining the benchmarks for their respective segments.

It´s been a while since we read about the rumored premium roadster, if only we could see a concept this 2011 or something like that...

I suppose it would have the top M engine by the time it goes on sale, as the Z8 the past decade. So a roadster with the 578 hp M5/M6 enigne would be pretty sporty.

2011 will be very interesting in terms of who will be N 1 in the Premium segment. I thing that for BMW is almost impossible to keep that spot, because its mass volume 1er and 3er current models will have a dramatical decline in the demand. Buyers will anticipate for the new models, and BMW’s marketing team should do something vary special to keep the pace of the competitors. But of course, for 2012 BMW will beat the competition with at least 200 000 units and that’s without MINI. Scott, would you tell us what is the forecast for 2011 in units

I think it is in regards to the next generation X5.

X6 and probably X2 are SAC Sport Activity Coupés so the circle is getting smaller..
