If you could only drive ONE car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Has this been done yet?

Nevertheless.

Keep in mind, this is the ONLY CAR you could drive for the rest of your life. For me, it would have to be the best mix of luxury and sport, roomy/utilitarian yet soulful/sexy. A mix of about everything, and of course, a design that won't look dated in the future, something that isn't a fashionable-for-today "niche" that might look passe in years, most important aspect would be all out timelessness. Something dependable, etc.

All that considered, and taking my recent experiences and revelations into account, I couldn't think of a better choice than the F10 M5.

It would be a black E39 530 facelift with the M-pack bumpers, a M54B30 under the hood and a manual gearbox. The interior would be beige with some wood trim, the steering wheel from the M5 and a MkIV navi system. The stock suspension would be removed in favour of a Bilstein/Eibach springs/shocks configuration.

I would be a very happy man :D

Mercedes CL. Sooo much luxury and comfort, without the "hey look at me". IMO best car in the world.

That or a Pagani and let's do a vasectomy and no have no kids

^Of course the Pagani option is very tempting, but i think it would be destroyed if i was to ONLY drive that for the rest of my life.

Or perhaps i could go public transport plus Pagani..hmm

Good choices. :D

Okay maybe I should have said, let's try and keep it relatively "realistic". Maybe a $120K (in U.S terms) budget? :D

My stolen 2008 318d E90 - Lubima. The car that I'd keep until the end of my life should be the car in which I had the best time and most memorable moments.
But as I'm a freakin' maniac it's like asking me which kid would you rather keep until the end of your life...
I'm sure I'll keep many cars and here's a "short" list:

Lubima (when I find her)
TVR Tuscan S MK1
Mclaren F1
BMW M3 E92 or/and E93
BMW M3 CSL
My E21
68/69 Camaro SS - Black
930 Turbo - Black
997 GT3 MK1 - Black

Any car I fall in love with... no matter the brand, the price tag, the looks...

Hard too choose just one car. There are so hot cars out there. :geek:

This would be my choose.

BMW M3 csl or Alpina e38

But it could change when the F82 arrives :D

Wow, how do you choose one car knowing that it has to last for the next 30 to 40 years? Tough one. And then there's the practicality consideration; the balance between versatility and driver appeal. I'll take my chances with the previous generation, naturally aspirated ML63 AMG. Now, if the wife could still keep changing cars then the choice is easy: E92 BMW M3.

I think as I cross over 40 and then 50 and so on, I want a S-Class. I rode in a S550 the other day and the car is so smooth, so quiet, so pampering. The XJ, 7er, A8 and LS just don't ride like the S does, nor do they feel as solid. S-Class, specifically the current S550 for me or maybe the CL550.

2013 Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDi BMT 4motion DSG Highline

- TDi, 177 hp, 380 Nm
- Topspeed is 220 km/h
- All-Wheel-Drive
- 6-speed double-clutch-gearbox
- Looks great in and out
- Fuel consumption is low
- Comfort and safety is high

The perfect car for me.

New Porsche Cayman S. Nothing too excessive, to flamboyant, but I am sure it will still feel special to drive in 30 years time.
