Huracán Huracan Performante

The Lamborghini Huracán is a sports car manufactured by Lamborghini. Predecessor: Lamborghini Gallardo. Successor: Lamborghini Temerario. Production: 2014-2024.
So this will be the new Performante successor?
Probably a Performance "EVO" or something even a little bit more hardcore but still road legal.
Except it is not, it's literally a racecar for the road in the purest form. Lamborghini has transitioned and homologated Huracan Super Trofeo Evo racecar for road-legal use. The only thing it will be missing is the racecar interior and suspension. Everything else will look essentially like this:

83kg weight reduction compared to the standard car, but same power. Probably some actual downforce too, together with race oriented suspension. RWD. Could challenge the Senna on some tracks, but as far as road use goes I am not that interested. The Performante already had seats made out of granite, this is probably gonna be even worse. And without AWD you are gonna lose all weather, all year usability too.

Will It feature ALA?
ALA is just marketing. This doesn't have ALA, but what it hopefully has is some actual aero. With ~1460kg kerb weight it will need it.

With just 640 hp I doubt it will be able to challenge the Senna....

The HP figure is really not that important for lap times. On some fast circuits, sure, but that's why I said on some tracks ;). Of course, then there is also the problem that it's heavier than the Senna, and there is no guarantee it's gonna have more downforce - especially downforce in relation to its weight - than the Senna. So I might be wrong. But then again, Senna was released a long enough time ago for Lamborghini to benchmark its performance while they were developing this. So in my view, it's really the question of how much road worthiness they were willing to sacrifice.

The HP figure is a bit disappointing nevertheless, though. They could have made the engine rev 500 RPM higher and that already would bring you to about 670-680 hp, in addition to having a headline grabbing 9000 RPM redline figure. But I guess with the V10 getting cancelled, the engine development money was tight. And speaking of which, weight reduction of only 83kg is also not that impressive considering just removing the front diff would save you close to 50kg. Well, anyway, we'll see, it might end up impressive regardless.

Yes agree, but 160 ps deficit, similar weight, and the fact that Senna is also a downforce monster is making me doubt.... it will be interesting to see when it gets tested, a track monster it will be for sure!

It has downforce of a Super Trofeo Evo racecar, which I think is more than the Senna (similar levels to GT3 class cars). Then again, this will be a fraction of Senna's sticker price.

They advertise it as 640ps, but in reality it might be 670ps. See Gallardo STS and SQ for reference, both of which had 580-590 hp instead of claimed 570 hp.

Correction on the downforce figure, Huracan Super Trofeo Evo has 600 kg at 200 km/h. I believe it is 800 kg for Senna at similar pace. So could be less.

The GT3 is a class above, and it's faster around the track despite having less power thanks to it being developed as a thoroughbred race car from the beginning with a different suspension geometry and a more sophisticated aero package which has 50% more downforce as mentioned in the article below by Motor Trend, where the author tested both vehicles.

Huracan Super Trofeo and GT3 EVO

Senna has 800kg at 250km/h. Which equals to 512kg at 200km/h. So if the STO really has the same downforce as the Super Trofeo, then it should have more (938kg at 250 for those curious).

And for those even more curious, at 1460kg kerb weight, that would mean cornering force of 1.82G on tires with a friction coefficient of 1. Senna is about 1.8G (all at 250km/h).

Some lap records are about to fall. I hope they stick it with Cup 2 Rs, but I doubt it. Lamborghini has a partnership with Pirelli. I think it would be a destructive track weapon on Cup 2 R.
The rumor is that it's coming with a new version of the Trofeo Rs. Guess we'll see tomorrow.
