I have a Yaris GR i must say that is one fantastic drivers car. My heavy boat M2 competition has more time standing in the garage then driving it. The enjoyment of a 1280kg car is great. I am looking forward buying a GR86 too. 1270kg rear wheel drive with a flat four atmo engine. That’s the spirit of a real drvers fun car.

New BMW 2 series 1700 kg. Did they leave their brains at bmw in a box somewhere?

I find my M2 competition already on the heavy side as a fun drivers car. I am not buying into in a new M2 at 1650kg plus. The GR86 is the path i take. I am done with heavy cars which are build with high hp en wide tires to compensate the weight.

WOW, André - how nice to hear from you after so long. Miss your insights and videos of you sublime driving skills. One day, when I'm big, I'll be able to drift like you. But probably, that ship has sailed...

Would love to hear more about your experience with the Yaris GR - it looks like loads of fun - and, yes, new GR86 will be a peach at (below ;) ) sea-level with that 7500rpm NA engine with much better torque with still lightweight and LSD. I can't wait to try one out.

More than enough power for use at sea-level. Good power-to-weight ratio. Dock 18-20% power off where I live at 1600m and it's going to be tough to get out of my 981 for this.

Adding power to GR86 is quite "easy" and not more costly than if it came from factory, but it demands some personal involvement.

So lovely there is still a brand that makes a coupe and hatches as light as possible. Focus on drving!

They have lost me at BMW M 1700kg for coupe’s is the new normal. But it still sells. At Bimmerpost they are all over it. The more weight the more oh and ahhhh it looks like Apple fanboys. 1700 KG it’s Amaaaaazing take my money.
