86 [Hot!] Toyota GR 86

The Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ are 2+2 sports cars jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, manufactured at Subaru's Gunma assembly plant. Matt drives tens of cars every year including hyper cars. His enthusiasm for driving the GR86 is quite telling about just how good it is. Bravo Toyota!

This car has to be one of the most best value fun to drive cars out there. 30K Pounds is even less than the Golf GTi and about 2K more than the Polo GTI.,

I have done driftdays with it i have done trackdays wet and dry with it. The car is worth every penny. So much fun driving it. You need a very expensive car to give you the same thrills. A heavy german boat wil never compare. My M2c is for sale don’t use it anymore for trackdays.

I just checked and the price of this car is disgusting. Even if purchased from a flipper, it’s cheaper than a German hot hatch.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

M2 is a better car if you use it as a daily driver. But on track the GR86 is the entertainer! You don’t have the m2 power so you need to be more precise. It more of a challenge I like it!

The M2 does everything. It s a compromise but for daily Comfort i rather have an X1 3.5i and for track i rather have a GR86. So i don’t get why bmw brings a new M2 at 1700kg Thats even more a daily driver And less for trackdays.

In the end everybody has opinions.

Doesn't work as a daily driver either, because it's only got two doors.

And I'm sure that they have a lot of fun getting out of the car to let the rear passengers get in or out. Especially when it's raining.
Being a daily driver doesn't mean you're using the car as a family or carpool vehicle. I know tons of people who "daily" their two door car as single-occupant use.

Notes on GR86 vs M2
For similar money to a lightly-optioned 230i, it’s possible to get your hands on the pinnacle of the previous-generation 2 Series. The M2 is a fabulous machine, although even this brawny coupe can’t match the precision of the GR86.

nice write up!

i have driven both too. The GR86 is the car to have. bmw should focus more on driving dynamics and lightness and less big cars. Bring something for the driver enthusiast like the 1m coupe!
