Smartphones [Hot!] Samsung Galaxy S4

KA didnt know you were such Apple fantatic ;) I've been working with apple products for many years but I dont find Apple to be some extraterrestrial product sent from Yodastic on planet 'Superior'. LOL.

I still need to know why I should get a G4 or Iphone 5 when there already is G3?

I played with my friends GSIII today. I think it feels cheap, is too big, and the screen and operating system didn't feel as slick and attractive as IOS to me.

Check the iPhone thread, I posted up a bunch of reviews on the iPhone 5 from reviewers. They seem to be astonishingly positive, calling it the best *all-around* phone on the market. Plus, you're not paying big bucks for cheap plastic, you're getting a refined, high quality product that's aesthetically a "Luxury Item" in comparison. I guarantee you, when you touch the 5, feel it, and experience what is apparently the slickest and fasted OS yet, it'll make the GSIII look and feel crude in comparison. That's my prediction anyway.

It's not Planet "Superior", it's planet "Supreme". That's why you didn't find it. :D

I just love Apple's feel and approach. They have no signs of cost cutting anywhere, they don't settle for plastic. The fit and finish, material quality, is BAR NONE the best of the best. The "exactness" in how they work and feel is still something I don't get from other brands. The slickness is yet to be matched, as well. I support how they've changed the consumer market as it's been very beneficial to all of us.

Also, as a shareholder, I'm thankful to for the opportunity.

While I like the Iphone design , it lacks extra cardslot for my 50 gb Mp3 music (it's still growing) I have in my current phone. Thats the reason I cant buy a Iphone 5. GIII have extra cardslot.
One more reason, I still dont think GIII is outdated thanks to the arrival of the new Iphone. GIII is going to fulfill my needs by a longshot. I text, phone, GPS and listen to music and use a few apps, thats all I do therefore GIII is good enough for me.

I don't think the GIII is outdated yet either, far from it. Specs are still top notch for the most part and it's still new. I just am not crazy about it for a few reasons, especially after playing around with it tonight, and that plastic material quality just unacceptable for such an expensive phone.

If you need a card slot then I guess you only have one choice out of the two anyway. However, I'll bet like the Cassette was, and now how the CD seems to be going, these things will be extinct at some point. Moving all your files over to the Cloud would probably be easiest (though cost more I'm sure), and nothing beats the seamlessness of Apple's eco-system

K-A, I know Apple would love to have you work in their stores. I'm sure you would be "Employee of the Month" for an entire year.

Not yet. I'm gonna wait until a later batch just in case initial ones are buggy. ;)

Forget working at an Apple store, I could market the hell out of Apple products. I know why I like 'em and I know how to express where its superiorities still continue over others. You listening, Apple? :D

I just need to wait 'till they phase out Samsung as their parts supplier.... since I'm sure Sammy will put explosives or something in the remaining batches they have contracted for Apple. :hilarious: Those guys will stop at nothing to get Apple's goat!

Yes Apple's goat.

Thanks, K-A, you're just another of thousand reasons why i'll never buy any of apples products...:D In fact, i'm scared i might find real apples (fruits) disgusting now after reading your posts and after enjoying that fruit for so many years...:(

:D

Yes Apple's goat.

C'mon, it's obvious that Samsung's obsessed. Just look at their latest print ads. Look at these weird announcements turning up near iPhone 5. Wait until they release ANOTHER round of "Apple-hater" commercials where they make fun of Apple fans waiting in line. You have to be able to realize that, no matter how much you might dislike Apple.

Thought you meant Apple's gold. Samsung needs to get a hire a better marketing team, their latest ads are no doubt embarrassing and dumb and it is sending out all the wrong messages, instead of focusing on what the iphone doesn't have, it should spread the messages of what android phones are all about.

Completely agreed. Samsung's social marketing head is apparently a guy who had the same position at RIM for 11 years..... and that worked out so well didn't it. Obviously this guy has a hard on for Apple, and along with him Samsung are looking very "butthurt" after the big trial outcome, not to mention iPhone 5 releases, all coinciding with these cheap shot ads.

Funny thing is, even in the ad where they compare the GSIII's specs to the iPhone, they leave out many features of the iPhone whilst putting in basic stuff from the GSIII to clearly take up more space. Also, they don't mention the fact that iPhone has a better camera. There have been a ton of parodies done of it that have gone even more viral than Samsung's original ad, mocking the GSIII, one of which headlines "Don't Settle For Cheap Plastic" with iPhone 5 specs shown probably as long as they should have been, and this rogue "marketer" talking out a bunch of the GSIII specs that shouldn't have made the list in the fist place considering what they left out from iPhone.... reversing the roles i.e iPhone now having a much longer list. It's all childish, but Samsung really asked for it by starting all of it with this approach. Apple themselves have never responded back, which practically forces them to look classy and dignified in comparison to Samsung who can't keep Apple's name out of their mouths.

Here are some of the rebuttals to Samsung's classless original anti-Apple ad.

It Doesn’t Take a Genius: Apple Fans Remix Samsung’s Ad

Josh Smith — 09/17/2012
Samsung is betting on specs to push the Galaxy S III against the iPhone 5 in a new ad that debuted over the weekend.
The new “It Doesn’t Take a Genius” ad appeared online and in print, and Apple fans wasted no time in remixing and re-purposing the ad to highlight the iPhone.
The new “It Doesn’t Take a Genius” ads run from funny, to downright sloppy, but for someone who uses Android and iPhone on a regular basis they are simultaneously funny and sad.
Samsung is betting big on these ads as well as the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 2 to bring in new Galaxy phone sales as the company looks to absorb a 1 billion dollar ruling against its previous phones for infringing on Apple’s patents and designs.
The most popular It Doesn’t Take a Genius ad comes by way of Ismael Del Toro who ads his own set of corrections to the Samsung ad, calling Samsung a bully. This ad takes potshots at Samsung’s design choices and is sure to rile the feathers of anyone using a phone with a 4.8-inch or larger display.

Josh Cohen on Twitter wipes out the It Doesn’t Take a Genius headline to offer the matching features or similar features on the iPhone 5. It’s worth noting that while Samsung’s TouchWiz version of Android ads in some special features not all of them are unique or difficult to replicate on the iPhone. I will say that the Smart Stay feature is one I wish every phone had, and auto brightness is nowhere near the same feature.

Tim Sears cooks up this It Doesn’t Take a Genius ad, found via Business Insider that takes a shot at the plastic construction and feel of the Galaxy S III. While the Galaxy S III is a solid phone, we wish Samsung skipped plastic on the back. The free iOS updates annually is a nice touch as the wait for the Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update continues and the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 will both see versions of iOS 6 this week, albeit with some limited functionality.

Design matters, and so does the lack of plastic says Tim Sears.

Rene Ritchie, the editor at iMore shares his version of the It Doesn’t Take a Genius highlighting the support. With the iPhone, users can walk into an Apple Store or call Apple for help, and Apple is routinely ranked among the highest in customer service. For the Android side, he points to carrier customer service and Best Buy Geek Squad.

Twitter user Rounak Jain takes a look at the aesthetics, in an, It Doesn’t Take a Genius ad that isn’t pretty, but gets to the matter of which phone looks better.

It Doesn’t Take a Genius ad parody calls the Galaxy S III ugly.

Do you have a favorite? We’ve seen various Android takes on Apple ads over the years, so the remix tradition isn’t new, although it may be a little bitter.

This reminds me of Audi vs BMW ads :D

BMW responded though, right? Apple doesn't. Other than that, yeah it's a similar idea, though Samsung really crosses the line especially via their Apple-fan commercials. Though, Audi have made fun of BMW/M-B buyers, but at least Audi's were somewhat humorous. Samsung's have too much obvious contempt and disdain rooted in their marketing anti-Apple ads.

If I had to pay someone a Billion dollars that I supplied parts that made them successful, I would have done the same ads. I'm sure it was more of an emotional move.
