Oilstainlab is a design studio founded by Iliya and Nikita Bridan, best known for their Half-11 project car.
Here's a video to get you up to speed with their work:

However, that car is not the focus of this thread.
Lately they've been releasing quite interesting renders of a much more advanced car. This project remains nameless for now.

I'm not entirely sure what their intentions with it are, but from what I've read, it would seem that they're looking to transition into a boutique supercar brand.
This is from their last instagram post:
Oilstainlab is headed to the UK, not only will we be running Goodwood FOS with the Half-11, but we will also be previewing our very first production vehicle on July 10th 2024. We have an incredible architectural venue lined up in Hampshire to showcase this incredible machine. 36 months in the making, by a global team of hand picked experts. It will be an opportunity to meet the founders, team and experience Oilstainlab's future. Where the past will overtake the future.

I'll be keeping up with this project and posting more teasers as they come. Here's all the existing pictures so far:

The name of the car is HF-11

Nikita Bridan was a guest of Sam Moores' Car Chat Podcast and he talked about this project
(starting at around 1:05 minute mark)
Car Chat Podcast: Nikita Bridan | Oil Stain Lab - The Half 11 And HF 11
  • It will be street legal production car "aiming for full homologation" for USA
(but then he says it will also be street legal in the UK and talks bout loopholes around crash testing)
  • it has a soul of Half-11, but no constraints and modern tech, with some group C inspiration
  • takes advantage of ground effects to generate downforce
  • it's been over 30 months in development
  • uses bespoke carbon tub
  • no shared components
  • manual or paddle shift sequential transmission
  • high revving NA flat six under development
  • HF-11 prototype for chassis development will use 991 GT3 RS motor
  • fits 6' 4" people with helmets
  • full digital reveal scheduled for September or October 2024
  • dynamic chassis testing starting in January 2025
  • HF-11 will be a lot of fun, but also very usable
(he mentions Valkyrie as an incredible engineering project that is perhaps not as fun to drive and not very comfortable... an example of what to avoid when making this type of car)
  • rough price estimate: $1,000,000+

This new project is way more interesting than a lot of the recent restomods that have popped up.

They have done a great job promoting their initial project. Their instagram page had some really good content.

Agreed. It's levels above Singers and Gunthers and the rest. It's more ambitious and original than Tuthill GT One, but doesn't veer off into the realm of unrealistic pipe dreams with bespoke engines, like Nilu.
Well, at least I think the engine is still based on Porsche flat six. The price estimate does suggest as much.

The Tuthill GT One is also far more than a restomod, it isn’t a restomod at all it s a completely bespoke chassis with a body styled to look like a GT One. Both of these cars are more similar than different IMO. Singer and a Gunther are restomod builders and will continue to build restomods until they run out of cars to mod. Ultimately they will end up going the same route as Ruf and build their own chassis.

Warning! Following two pictures might spoil the official reveal.
It's a screen capture from VR with HF-11 model, showing the front of the car (no more digi camo) and some of the interior.

"New car you’re gonna love alert! The mad twin brothers at @oilstainlab are building 25 versions of a new thingy bopper called the HF11. Carbon-fiber tub, 2,000-pounds total, 1,800-pounds of downforce, flat-6 that revs to 12,500 rpm, 6-speed manual, snd a super cool interior. Also, they’re doing an EV version that will be lighter than the gas version, and have a 6-speed manual. Not crazy about that last bit, but whatever. Real pics will appear tomorrow, but I thought you’d want to see these."

There is no way they make the Porsche F6 rev to 12500RPM, especially if they also want to increase the capacity to 4.5L, but interesting nevertheless. But, same as with every similar project where they are only planning to make a handful of cars and have a minimal budget, you have to wonder how complete the development will be and if the car ever happens.

Btw, they have Michelin stickers on Trofeo R tires... and on one of the models the tires are put on the wrong way around. :ROFLMAO:

And the front suspension model is something that's not gonna work. You can't put one of your control arm pick up points on a tubular bar in bending. Not to mention that the pushrods don't attach to anything. That's some very early work that will all have to be re-done at some point.

Let's wait two more hours for the official specs before we jump to conclusions.
Those chassis renders were of a packaging model, not representative of the final structure that will need to handle all the necessary loads and stresses.

How you design the tube frame IS a part of packaging, I would argue, but yeah, let's see what has changed.
