I’m still so on the fence about this car
Oh I'm not. If I were you I'd be pole-vaulting that fence into the dealer - down payment in hand.
I think it's gorgeous, I love the whole concept: smaller, wieldier, more approachable, most "affordable" of the mid-engined range. So much to like.
It's an Ultimate Garage, part II car for me. Speaking of which...

I think you’re idea though of the car is what Ferrari marketing wants you to believe but won’t match the reality.

1: Aesthetics, personal choice. If you love it, great.
2. Smaller, yea it is smaller. However the cockpit is also more tight, not terribly so but Ferraris have always had the most roomy cockpits. So for a purist, that’s tough.
3. Wieldier: well I was told by a Ferrari tech to expect a curb weight of 3600 pounds :/. That doesn’t sound like an improvement to me, even with the extra power.
4. more approachable: I’m not sure here.
5. most affordable: again, I’m shocked by the price of these things after options. My spec came to almost $400k and it was nothing special. Add taxes, PPF and we’re looking at $440k for a non-limited, series production mid range Ferrari. It’s too much, perhaps.

hence why I’m on the fence.

God it looks fan-friggin-tastic from several angles. So looking forward to seeing one in flesh, as well as hearing how it is to drive (heard rumors from a lucky few North American customers , and their first impressions that it is like a Lotus Exige with more power... if true, very encouraging indeed

Btw, IF I were to place an order for one, this exact spec would my personal pick..Natural, organic looking, no clutter w/ the stupid stripes or the fancy CF wheels, seats at least comfy enough etc etc...Aaaand of course, Rosso Imola (I repost the video of the exact same spec I'd do, just for reference)

Quite interesting one, this...For those who ''occasionally'' enjoy a nice 1:8 or 1:18 model...Too bad it seems to cost an arm and a leg

I have an Amalgam 1:18 F40 and an 1:18 250 GTO. I really want another in 1:18 scale, but have yet to decide which one. Likely an Enzo, F50 or LaFerrari. They don't have much in 1:18, and 1:8 is a complete no go in terms of money. Even if the 296 came in 1:18, it would be too ordinary for me. I would wait for a 'Pista' version of it. But for now only the really special Ferrari hypercars for me. I want to eventually have the whole collection of hypercars all the way from the GTO to the LaFerrari.

I’m still so on the fence about this car

You can always upgrade your Turbo S to 900 hp and just be done with it all, while destroying every hypercar in the meantime.

PS, go for the 296.
