M3/M4 [Hot!] BMW M4 Concept

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
I feel like we are missing a few.

Thanks for bring back some sensibilities to this thread.

wow this thing is lower than even the E46? and hey, still, what a beauty the E46 is! the feeling is that it will turn into some all time classic.

It's shocking just how much more aggressive each generation of M3 has become, I remember when the E46 came out and thought that thing was beefy which it was but this latest edition just blows it away. Just like the RS6 if you see this new M4 in the rear view mirror you pull over without hesitation.

Two right hand drive M3s... Lol, for a second I thought the fuel cap was on the wrong side on the new M3 :D but then I realised that is the normal placement and the E46 and E92 are the odd ones ;)

I know some people might prefer the own an open top M4 but IMO it goes against everything the brand stands for, if you want to make an open top then design it from the word go to not add weight and increase the CoG of an existing model.

Few numbers from latest AutoZeitung:
  • Engine: straight-6 biturbo from the Z4 sDrive35is
  • Power: ca. 435 hp
  • Torque: ca. 540 Nm
  • Weight: ca. 1490 kg
  • 0-100 km/h: 4,2 s (according to a BMW-insider a testcar did 4,1 s)

Levi posted the article in this thread already. Post #262.

The article doesn't seem reliable to me since Autozeitung said the Z4 engine is an M55 rather than the N54 that it actually is. If their facts aren't correct then their rumours probably aren't either.

Edit: Their numbers are probably in the right ballpark but they are just guesses preceded by a "ca." Anybody who reads these forums could come up with a reasonable guess.

I'm at the Northern Ireland Golf Open and talking to the BMW guys who happen to be one of the main sponsers at the event. Well I can confirm after talking to one of them I know very well that the new M4 IS using a Bi-turbo inline 6.

Ever since the first M3 there has been a Cabrio although for E30 it was a limited edition that tested the water , but subsequent models of the E36 , E46 and E93 have been highly successful in the market and so will the F33 , customers still want that precision but also in a Cabrio.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
