A-Class [Hot!] 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan concept

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
Really looking forward for this one, it should be a better attempt at the compact saloon than the CLA..its turning out to be a cute little MB saloon.

EDIT: Just noticed that huge front overhang..ouch:cry:, had my hopes up after seeing the svelt concept A Sedan but it wasn't to be..

There really is no way around it on a small FWD car like this. I hate it too. Imagine a little rwd sedan like this. It would have been the 190E all over again in spirit at least.

Unfortunately this is the case..but why did MB show such a well proportioned concept??

Manufacturers can build a FWD with RWD proportions. The question is do they want to spend the money in order to do that.

I have many sleepless nights about this car...

Ok. not really. But it does look a little concerning.

The A3 sedan is a prime example of how well this class of car can be executed. In fact it's more attractive than it's big brother A4.

I guess that is true, because Volvo does it perfectly with the S90.

So either you spend money on a platform with RWD proportions, or you make an FWD platform and make it lawnmower engine only, like Volvo.

...I rather have an Audi, then.

@fortuner, would you consider adding the A Class saloon to your MB saloon collection to have a trio of them..the A, C & E then the only thing missing would be the S;)

If i was still living in SA yes I would have a S by now sadly the exchange rate and the insurance in .uk per car is enorumoues so I try to cut and keep less cars in SA I had a fleet discount insurance so I had 4 of my own cars lol

So you were pretty much living the merc dream back in SA?:angelic:..but you're right, insurance and other commodities in the UK are excruciating, which is a real shame for car guyz..

Yeah i had a good business in SA and still have it but it's dropped since I moved and also exchange rate...so yeah if I was in SA now inwould have a AMG GT and a S class ...

The overhang doesn't look too bad on the move, like the CLA. The side view from afar is the problem in pics, but not in most real life situations. Every time I think MB dealers have a enough cars to sell, next year they'll get this new A-Class sedan to explain to customers.

Right? And there's 1-2 more SUV's on the way and that's before the EQ brand starts up. It's going to be a zoo out there in terms of product diversity.
