M5 [Hot!] 2014 BMW M5 Leaked

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
The point is that last year the 5 series (No. 1 in its segment) sold between 50,000 to 60,000 more cars than the e-class. (No. 2) - correct me if I'm wrong.
The actual 5 is the best selling in the history of 5 series by far with sales records each year
The E-class never had NEVER BEFORE in their sales such a big difference with the 5, (formerly the e-class was Nº1 and the 5 series was Nº2 in sales).

Mercedes made a radical facelift nearly $ 1 billion cost, because it was not working, the BMW not need this because not only works but is a great success. -
ps: having seen both IRL , I can not understand why the E-class not sell to the level of other times and other models, although the new Series 5 has a lot to do with it I think.

This is old news and there already is a thread.

Lock and delete please. Or merge if we want to read MB fanboy material in the M5 thread.

I have been driving a 2013 M5 all day today, and it was just breathtaking:

Did you drive it like you stole it? Or did you really steal it? :D

Haha, definitely like I stole it. Damn what a machine. But the fun was over when it started raining. Zero traction.

Yeah but it wasn't my car and 2000 kg is a lot to drift with. I'd have to practise a bit first ;)

Misinformed. The entire sales differential between the E-class and 5-series can be attributed to ONE market. China. And that's not because the Chinese prefer the 5 over the E, it's because the Mercedes marketing and product support channels in China have been a complete basket case and failure. They sold 100,000 less E's than 5-series in China last year. This explains the entire sales differential between the E and 5 in well fell swoop. Hell it explains the sales differential between MB and BMW as brands, it's that huge.

But just look at the Hong Kong market to understand Mercedes is still a more revered brand amongst the Chinese populace and they will get to where they need to be in China.

Before the thread gets locked, as it went off-topic (?) watch this vid guys (you too LaArtist ;) ):

artist why are you pushing your opinion, who is very subjective down everybodys throat?
i cant even imagine why 5er looks old to you, maybe because it doesnt have busy, overdesigned headlamps that distracts from the whole car?

I'm with Artist on this one. The 5er does indeed look old... but to me old like in old school.
Today's designs are far more modern and trendy... 90% of them are truly ugly and that's where the 5-Series fails to keep up ;)

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
