F1 Formula 1 - 2024 Season

The figures he getting from Ferrari are crazy no ways Mercedes will afford it or do it.. He also getting to be a brand ambassador till 2035 their is big big money in this.

If I was Lewis I would probably do it at his age

Let’s hope this season is good one at Mercedes but I don’t think anyone gets close to RB

> Says to never leave the MB family
> doesn't get the contract he wants
> says f#ck you to MB via the Italian media

Epic fail in the making: 1) Ferrari is possibly in worse shape than MB 2) Leclerc will eat him alive 3) He'll be 41 when the new rules set in 4) RB will win every race until then

But even with all that said I still understand and even respect him trying. His future at MB was done.

I think F1 bosses asked him to change team because otherwise F1 would've become too boring with Max in front and Lewis fighting to be 2nd/3rd in Mercedes car. Now he'll have to fight way harder to be in that place with Ferrari, sounds more exciting to me.

Given the significant contribution to Ferrari's revenue that licensing brings, it's actually not unreasonable to consider that Ferrari factored this in when figuring out how many dump trucks they needed to deliver the money to Lewis's bank account.

I don't doubt it was factored in. The comment I was responding to suggested it was the *only* reason he was moving to Ferrari.

Even if I would not say this is the reason , I would not ignore it

Ferrari is one of the best selling merch in the industry.

As far as I know , almost half of Ferrari revenue is from merchandise ...

I don't doubt that. The suggestion was that it was the *only* reason, which is clearly nonsense when he was the highest ranked non-Red Bull driver last season.

they got the driver , can they deliver the car and the team around him is the question for Ferrari.

I am very excited about Mercedes next move and future. Mercedes comes to win it ain’t no BMW , Alfa etc that are there to fill out the grid. Otherwise Stuttgart will pull the plug and come back when it’s wining time again.

Oh and f#ck Red Bull

Schumacher came out of a four-year retirement to race. Not remotely comparable.

The highest ranked non-Red Bull driver last season, yet it's apparently to sell "merch"? 👍
From the age perspective (which I was referring to) it is absolutely perfectly comparable. Schumacher was 41 when he returned in 2010, Hamilton will be 40 next year when he starts with Scuderia.

There are also lots of other key similarities such as both being homo sapiens and possessing two legs.

I don't see the comparison with Schumacher, just because they both happen to have raced at the age of 40. It seems you've decided it will be a failure and then tried to find a previous example, while also ignoring a key difference in that Hamilton has never retired from F1 for several years. A more obvious comparison would be Fernando Alonso who is two and a half years older than Hamilton, and still one of the most competitive drivers on the grid.

Keep your sarcasm for yourself. It’s not that the world could not live without your superior opinions, ventilated all over this forum.

I am sure you are. But they're in shambles and won't recover. It's absolutely breathtaking to see the collapse. Toto near tears.

"No Lewis No. That is so not right"

Delusional. MB has been filling the grid since '21. They will keep filling the grid for the next two years. BMW would already have stopped. Hopefully MB will soon realize how useless they are. Better quit F1 and focus on EV development which also is severely lacking. Gladly replace that f#cking team with Andretti.

These last years were the same as retirement, you get that right? Right?

You are avsolutely right. At one point drivers loose speed, some earlier than others. Schumacher had lost his speed when doing his comeback. Some years out of the sport surely doesnt help, but it should not affect your natural speed, look at Raikkonen and Alonso. It will be interesting to see if Hanilton will start loosing speed while he is in Ferrari.

You seem to have a low threshold for what triggers you to start getting personal. What I said was a lighthearted way of saying the similarities between Schumacher's situation and Hamilton's situation are tenuous, considering the major point is that Schumacher's unsuccessful period was after a comeback from several years of retirement, and Hamilton isn't doing that.

Klier has the excuse that his life seems to revolve around sitting in a sordid grief hole all day, festering in his own stench, so it's understandable he would lash out. It doesn't mean you should.

.
let's see if Hamilton can overcome the Ferrari team and their strategy calls
That is the part I feel for Sainz. He is wily and better suited for Ferrari's politics. Sainz would proactively take charge and strategize for Ferrari and they needed that and it resulted in at least 2 wins for him in last 2 years. Unlike Leclerc, who just reactively complains after Ferrari f#cks up, but never takes charge. Hamilton is pretty much the same - he either questions in an half assed way or complains after.

If Ferrari makes a dominant car, all this is moot, but if they are in a knife fight for the championship, I see the the potential for a lot of heartbreak.

Hahah shut the f#ck up please.

Calling a 8 x wc team useless, you look like a damn idiyat!

Just wait until Adrian N leaves RB… might be sooner than you think ..
