Does this magazine target retards now? It's funny how they call these cars "clunkers" because of the poor fuel economy they get. I also doubt that somebody who is lusting for one of these actually cares about gas mileage (and they can afford to pay for it too).

I like how they pick the most expensive model for almost every car.

A clunker is an older car on its last legs. Not new cars. And especially not new ones that have high maintenance costs because of the quality and materials used to build it.

Big thumbs down for Forbes.

Great humor.

The list should look like this:

1. Ford F-450
2. Ford F-350
3. Dodge RAM Heavy Duty
4. Dodge RAM 3500
5. Ford Super Duty
6. Ford Expedition
7. Chevrolet Avalanche
8. Dodge RAM 2500
9. Chevrolet Suburban
10. Lincoln Navigator

:D

With journalism like this, no wonder there are people who buy a Hummer H2 and then wonder why the fuel economy is so piss poor! :D

It looks like an anti-MB & anti-BMW ad paid by Toyota / Lexus. :usa7uh::D

That's also where I found it: Club Lexus. I read the comments over on that forum and I am convinced the place is run by a bunch of dumb kids. :t-crazy2:

Numbers 1-5 and number 8 aren't clunkers. The people I personally know who own those actually have to have them. They are owned by construction guys, farm folks and delivery personell. I must admit that there are a bunch of idiots who buy those to show off (*cough*small penis*cough*) but mostly they are used by people who need them. So, let's not put those down. You can put down the SUVs though, since they are used on like 1 weekend a month by a family but driven daily by 1 person. That's just stupid.

There is nothing wrong with the grouping IMO, it’s the title that is completely disingenuous. A listing of expensive to own/maintain vehicles would have been more apt because thats what it is. To use the word "clunker" right after a "Cash for Clunkers" program has just ended just reeks of some type of bs connection trying to be made. None of these vehicles are "clunkers" and anyone with a brain knows that.

Chris you gotta quit reading those Lexus boards it isn't worth the aggraviation.

But why does European construction workers get by with a VW Caddy or a Mitsubishi L200? They do the same thing.

I don't know how much you guys need to pull out there, but I've literally seen a Ford Super Duty pull a House on the highway. A teacher of mine and her husband have a ranch with like 30 horses. They need to pull trailers full of hay and many times have to move 10-15 horses around shows and the Ford Super Duty makes their life easier. Why pull couple thousand pounds at a time and make trips when you can pull 240000 pounds all at once? Also, the other reason why guys over there get buy with those is probably because that's what you have and we have these badasses, so we make due with them.

We use trailers for such work.

A normal person can't really afford a Truck to pull trailers for them, so it's much cheaper to buy a pick-up and pull the damn trailer yourself. Not to mention recreational stuff is REALLY big in the US and people out here are always hauling boats, trailers, etc. to go fishing, hunting, camping, etc., so who is gonna call a truck to take all that stuff?

If you are driving around with 15 horses on a regular basis, and don't want to drive a real truck, it is perfectly understandable to have a super duty or something horrible like that. But it seems so strange, do these collectors of horses have a regular car for driving to town to buy their bacon? Or do they only have the mega pick up?

In the end, it is a question of attitude... and the freedom of choice.

As far as I know about the people with the Horses, she has a Subaru Forrester or something for everyday purposes. Also, they don't collect horses, they just have a shit load of land and a stable where people pay them to keep their horse and bring out the horses on events and such.

Like I said, many of the people I know have a need of the pick-ups. Not everyone has a need but many do.
