Forbes Magazine's Best Luxury Cars For The Buck

6. GMC Yukon

Thats a luxury car?? What are the qualifications for a luxury vehicle these days? Leather seats and sat nav?

Interesting list. On the one hand you have the BMWs then on the others you have a Saab that was designed in the early 90's. I mean really this is a list of "nice" cars, cars that average consumer would like and commute in. The RX is on the list twice? The BMW 3-Series is the only standout here. The Volvo is nice, the Acura is nice, but the IS250, 9-5 and the same Volvo with or without the black plastic is just ridiculous.

Seemingly so. It would appear that most anything can be called a "luxury" car in this day and age; from a truck with leather to even a small Mazda saloon.

In the Yukon's defense, the Denali is very sharp for its class, almost on par with the Escalade.

@list: Number 1??

Number 2??

Why Number 5?

Number 7 is not Number 1? Typo?

Number 15?!
Hey Look at Number 9! You see, next year, slot that for an X :banana:

Lately I'm finding it impeccable the way the lines betwen luxury and modest are blurred, just as artists who made music 20 years ago (no matter what they sold) are being called legends. Or icons. (shudder)

@cawimmer430: lol! Prestige pricing? No sweetie, that's not because of prestige ....

:t-cheers:

I was actually just hinting at the fact that Mercedes are generally poor value for money because they're so overpriced. They're overpriced because of the Euro-Dollar relationship, the labor costs in Germany and of course the fact that Mercedes does have a certain amount of prestige pricing included in the price.

You know, the whole "I am driving a Mercedes-Benz..." thingy where people will know what that stands for (first modern automobile etc.). :t-cheers:
