This will be very interesting. The video looks very promising. It's about time they make a real supercar, although it's not a "real" one to me.
I have to ask though. What's up with those Audi led lights?? Is this the first time BMW are leaving their legendary oval angel eyes??

Regardless of the shape of the light, BMW was the first to use a light running through a tube concept, so in essence Audi copied BMW.![]()

It has been explained a while ago by BMW design chiefs: BMW i cars will feature U-shaped main headlight & rear light graphics, instead of front quad coronas & L-shaped rear lights. It's a design characteristic special to BMW i sub-brand only. Regular BMWs will stick to headlight quad coronas (mind 4er & X4 concepts corona graphics!) and L-shaped rear lights.
Beside special light graphics the BMW i cars will also feature blue (or in some cases gray) frames around double kidney grille & around BMW roundels, and a characteristic black "stream flow" (extended rear side window) in the C-pillar. Hofmeister kink will be featured on some i cars only.
Well, I think that sucks, because there is nothing that screams more BMW then the typical angel eye lights. As say it again, I think it's a big thumb down for the shape of the LED lights in this small i( ideo. It's too Audish. But then again, when the A5 came, the rear looked very much like the 3 series... Both you and me know that if anybody says LED lighting, everybody thinks Audi. BMW may have been first with the angel eyes etc, but real LED technology is pure Audi. Let's keep Audi out of this nice i8 discussion for nowAs much as I agree with you I also have to disagree with your Audi LED light comment. The i8 won't use LEDs, but "laser" light, an automotive first which, according to BMW offers the following advantages over LED units:I have to ask though. What's up with those Audi led lights??
I wasnt referring to the technology, but the shape of the lights. It looks to Audish. The i8 won't use LEDs, but "laser" light, an automotive first which, according to BMW offers the following advantages over LED units:

This is BMW to me:

It was until there was a regime change.I thought BMW was about driving, not LEDs and all sorts of useless "wow-factor" gadgets?
