@Soup Given the chance and the means, which would you take home? F40 or Carrera GT?

F40, it's the epitome of Analog Supercars and probably the only street legal turbocharged car in existence that sounds fabulous.

My first experience in an F40 was here


Porsche screwed its customers with promised weight for the CGT, concept was 1,250 kg and production car according to the factory 1,380 kg. Sport Auto's test car weighed 1,473 kg

Then you have the perils of the Carbon Ceramic Clutch, which isn't meant for city driving (god forbid running into a steep incline) or getting stuck in traffic. You will either squeeze over 60,000 km out of it or end up replacing it every 3,000 km, depending on your skills and how and where it will be used.

Frankly speaking, the CGT is one of those special Porsche's that I'd love to own in black/black or red/black with carbon shift knob instead of balsa wood shift knob and straight pipes.

For me, it was my first automotive related love. I was six in 1987 and recall reading a copy of Popular Mechanics with an article about the F40. I was so amazed with the looks, the performance figures. I never felt the same about a car ever again.

My other favorite exotic would be the Zonda, but these days, I actually would take a F12 over just about anything. (You lucky bastard)

I'm not fan of tuned F40's, I prefer that is in original condition, but this one looks sinister in all black.
