Breaking headlines, major automotive announcements, and important industry developments.
Gravity says that's not possible ;)
Well, it could be orbiting like the moon, and then it would indeed be pretty hard for us to launch stuff into space..
Sorry, not following.

Is this the Stig? Was he underpaid in TG?

I thought it was pretty straight forward.
I've come to realise that what you think and what you know are two very different things. Why not offer an explanation rather than a meaningless retort?

It is straight forward. It is not possible to have an astroid belt in that place, that was all.

What could possibly be difficult about that?
And I really don’t like the tone much, Martin.

First detailed shots of the SpaceX suits:

Behind this little plastic patch houses the connection for life support. Crazy how slim and discreet it is. There may be more to it when it’s operational, though I didn’t get a chance to figure that out.

The white portions of the suit are made out of a type of Teflon.

The grey parts are made of Nomex.

The helmet button to latch and unlatch it. There’s one on each side.

The gloves are very detailed and designed specifically to work with the touchscreen.

Crew gets in the suit by way of the inseam. They basically put it on like a large onesie. It is entirely one piece, although the gloves can be opened up and unzipped if you’d like to use bare hands.

Waouw they can go out in space in such slim suits ?

I believe they can stay in the suits within the confines of the space vessel. Otherwise they have tethers (on the thigh) to plug into a life support system (similar to the Boeing Starliner suit).

Ok i thought this was they would wear when they go out.

Exciting. 17 hours to go. I will have to watch it when I wake up on Tuesday morning.

In 2015, when SpaceX opened their Seattle office, Elon Musk announced that he was going to build a planetary communications platform that would be able to provide high speed internet to the whole planet (including remote/rural areas) at an ultra low cost. In the video below, he mentioned the aim was to deliver v1 in 5 years.

4 years later we’re seeing the first effort of this global communication system. Telcos and ISPs (internet service providers) are going to see stiff competition from an unexpected competitor. We’re seeing the first phase of SpaceX transitioning from a launch provider to a global internet provider. This also answers the question of where the funding will come from, to build a city on Mars.

Never seen satellites stacked like that, very odd shape. Btw wasn't there a compagny trying to do the same and even sued them for a copyright thing ?

Yeah, it is an odd shape. I believe these satellites will unwrap and expand with solar array once they're deployed. I haven't heard about the copyright - The only other companies that I know of which were working on a similar mesh network are Google and Facebook with one using balloons and the other using drones. I know these plans were announced back in 2015 (video below). Also this is a custom inhouse design to ensure they can fit within the fairing design of Falcon Heavy.

The most complicated part of deploying these satellites will be getting them to deploy correctly on their oribtal paths to create a consistent mesh network around earth. If you want to geek out on the details, there's a really informative video put together by Professor Mark Handley who is a professor of Connected Networks at University College London
