M3/M4 E92 M3 discussion thread III

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

If there's any news(pic's) tomorrow I'll definitely   to you

^^^ I believe that is exactly the CAR photoshop....

...We'll know soon, but if BILD says bumper......

It has been pretty quiet here lately. I can almost hear crickets chirping in the background!

The Chicago Auto Show is opening to the general public today. The media preview has already been held. The only new car shown by BWM is the Alpina B7. The show continues through next weekend, IIRC. It may be that BMW will make no announcements until after the show is concluded. I think it would be odd for BMW to announce -- or even preview in teaser form -- a new product during a major auto show without making the preview at the show itself. (Granted the Chicago Auto Show is not even considered the most important show in North America, but nevertheless I think it is still a major show in the scheme of things.)

So I think it will be at least another 10 days before anything is previewed.

So you we're right on this! Chicago Auto Show is over now. 10 endless days of further waiting...
Where's the M3 teaser??? Eni?

Best regards, south

The waiting is getting really old. I'm burned out on speculating and reading tea leaves. It has been a while since anything really new and interesting has been learned. There have not even been any new spy shots recently. Bottom line based on info provided by more than one source: 426 hp (likely less in the US), no HUD, no car for the EU until late 2007; no car for US until 2008.

same happend with the E92 waiting period ILC32. They are really getting very annoying...

Damn BMW guys :D

Wasn't there a guy who supported the annoying wait for the E92 by saying "PR coming next week" sometimes in Jan '06 whereas we had to wait another 3 months for it.... :D :D :D

Who said that? :eusa_thin

Interesting. The last 3 are real photos right? Now we can finally see the side vents. Grey one looks great

looks fake to me :t-hands:

Ditto...those are chops.

Edit: Another reason for those being chops is because the E90 M3 is supposed to have a different front-end compared to the coupe. At least thats what I understand from Eni and Scott.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
