The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. Then again they have high revving engines and does make noise just like any other proper sports car. I can't really comment on eexactly how stiff the suspension on a 996 GT3 is becasue I haven't driven one. Neither do I know what suspension the GT3 you took a ride in had. There is the sport suspension, stock suspension and PASM suspension with two different settings.

the GT3 was no clubsport version, just a standard GT3 and its not a 997, its a 996, the older generation.
Anyway, you can sit in the car and its noisy even if you dont push the car, just like Z06. The isolation from sound havent obviosly been a priority.

I'm sorry...bad choice of words. I didn't mean that anyone at AUDI can't build cars that can outperform the M-division. What I meant to say was that no one at Audi or it's fans have any right to challenge M-division's credentials because they are older. Sorry Audi4Life, I should have worded my sentence better.

Back on topic...Can we keep M6 and it's competitors out of this? This is a M3 thread..LOL
 
Heres How I see the M3 stacking up with the porshe line..

M3 vs. C2/C2S
M3 CSL vs. GT3
*&%$# vs. GT3 RS

I mean BMW doesnt really have a car that competes with a GT3 RS but I believe the M3 CSL is just as driveable as a GT3 if not more practical...

anyway the new M3 will probably be kick ass....i wonder how the C63 will stack up against the Rs4 and M3

How the C63 will stack up? Let me tell you!!

C63- Tons of torque with straight line speed. Handling Close to the other two but still third. Will be the best in ergo/comfort though. Afterall it is AMG.

Magazines will probably say. "A really capable car. lots of speed and great handling but still not as fun as the RS4 or M3"...Hey don't shoot me now, it is just a guess based on the current/past situations.

Yes thats what i was thinking...but lately it looks like MB is changing their philosophy...maybe the C63 will be a very good handling car:t-hands:

Yeah, I know what you're saying. But, I think AMG are a little late to the Handling Party...but who really knows. We have to wait until they (m3, c63) come out. Until then....Lets drool over the RS4 :icondrool

By the way...I don't think the C63 will out handle the M3 though. I don't even wanna guess what will happen to the C63 vs. RS4 matchup...because both are sedans..:t-hands:

Thats true but apparently the CLK 63 was quite a bummer in the handling department...If you have any sources that say other wise id be curious to see them but from what ive seen its been somewhat lousy in that way.

But on the CLK's defense....it is still an old chassis. The new C63 will be based on a new generation MB chassis...that is the only thing that gives me hope that the C63 will be close to the competition in the Handling dept....it will no doubt be the most comfortable though.
 
probably the C63 will look better than the competition..thats often the way things go down.. LOL :D.. ( sorry just had to do it..dont shoot me)

and if Audi dont put a more powerfull engine in the RS8 the M3 might sniff its arse on the track..

I guess you're late to the party Dyna...if you haven't noticed Mr. Artist has a tendency to say "BMW is GAY" as a joke...so I just reminded him that he forgot to use his trademark line. C'mon, is it really that manly to insult somone over the internet? :t-hands: :D

thats a good point..but isnt the clk an ABC lay out?
 
Matt...I'm not too sure. I don't think that CLK63 has the latest ABC...I could be wrong though. Either way, the new C63 will have some new techs...things are going to get interesting next year.
 
so is there going to be an M3 sedan and when can we expect it after the coupe if so?

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts.
