M3/M4 E92 M3 discussion thread II

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
I thought i would subscribe to this... anyway the 997 is quite a bit better than the 996. I was even hoping that the M3 would compete with the carrera S, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Remember, I never said the M3 BEATS the 911 overall, but it is close, and a much cheaper car too.

and more practical and also with better comfort if you ask me :)

if it existed I would give you newer but I cant find any sportauto reviews for 996 after year 2003 so you can blame me on this one, blame Sportauto.

BTW sportauto tests around Nordschleife is only done one time.

yaah right, BMW needs to worry about competing with the RS4 before talking about 911's & R8's! Good try BMW i'll believe it when I see it!:bowdown: :bowdown:R8!!

Keep in mind that there a several drivers that prefer the current E46 M3 CS over the current RS4. Take for example EVO magazine (one of the most respectable car magazines in my opinion): http://www.evo.co.uk/cargrouptests/cargrouptests/63361/audi_rs4_v_bmw_m3_v_mercedes_c55.html

Here the E46 M3 CS won the test, and recall this is the older generation M3.

This is not to say the RS4 isn't a great car, because it is the benchmark right now... But think about it... the M3 is a legend, and BMW have too much at stake to let their halo car be beaten by a car that has been out for 1.5 years already. I think that the M3 will beat the RS4 relatively easily in terms driving dynamics and speed, particularly on the E92 platform which has been commended over and over again. I think that most people have this expectation and I think it is very realistic.

Maybe it is reaching to compare the R8 to the M3, afterall the R8 is a pure sportcars, bordering on supercar, but whats wrong with aiming high? I'm sure when Audi annouces that their new A8 is going to be targeting RR Phantom buyers, I'm sure you won't be saying the same thing.

The new M3 will totally crush the RS4.
Crush, I tell you. Nothing will be left of that car, which even costs more

BMW is looking higher up now for the competition, and I can't blame them.

911, here we come :t-drive:

I don't blame you for anything, It's just that I could care less about a 5 going on 6 year old info! I thought your position was based on fairly current info. I apologize for the miss understanding! Did you help (PC VALKYRIE) off his or her Knees let? Lol:t-hands: !!

Klier, stop tease Audi fans. We do not want war in this thread!

Eni, you have got to be kidding me.

This is the E92 M3 thread in the BMW forums.

Ask those Audi boys to stop dissing the M3, and ask them to stop talking about their beloved RS4 here. This has become an M3 vs RS4 thread now, which is not what we wanted I'm sure. That time will come, and I will post there too....with a big smile I think :D

Anyways, time to post this pic again, as a reminder:

You got a point there,my man..you got a point!!!
I just can´t the day when new M3 will hit the road..to show who is who on the road..Just can´t wait for Audi fanboys(or any onther) to start complainig how RS4 has 4x4 drive, how is more secure on ice and snow, how this and that...I˙m sick and tired of BS talk as far M3 is concerned..Just remember what engine is recognized to be the best in its segment for 5 years in a row and etc,etc...what car is even now after six-seven years of production no.1 in trems of driving pleasure in its segment..God,I need to stop now:D ..

Are you being serious? No offense but you have 85 posts, you really have no business here questioning other members. First off, JM has been providing realiable info since the old days at GCF. Second of all, Scott and Eni lab have inside scoop before most automotive press.

I'm getting really sick and tired of this M3 vs RS4 discussion. Do you really think that BMW will come out with a car that cannot at least match the RS4? That's like saying Audi would not be able to match the E46 M3 when they were designing the car. If they didn't the RS4 would have been an utter failure.

What are you 10?

Please post the track times of any Audi that is close or even in the ball park of the old CSL?

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
