X5 E70 BMW X5 Facelift Thread (Spy pics & info)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

AND, and..I LIKE the black plastic bumpers on the X5 & X6, gives a nice contrast and a certain ruggedness :usa7uh:

top pic shows the lights for the current model while the pic below shows the lights for the f/l:

Expected Changes on FL model

1. new rear light design (same shape though)

2. two new options: sideview camera (shows front part left and right) and speed limit info (camera reads speed limit signs)

3. frontlights get a very minor change, almost invisible

NO 8-speed auto tranny, no engine upgrade, NO OTHER CHANGES !

In another french forum, a guy who passed an order for the FL said that it was coming with the 8 speed tranny.

The 8-speed transmission will be only available on the 8 cylinder engine.

I'm expecting eyebrows to be added on the front lights. ;)

Sounds like this is it. :usa7uh:

I think this might be the same test vehicle as in the above pictures.

Just speculating, I don't have a source myself. I just thought the list on Bartek's post seemed plausible to me. :usa7uh:

Seems like we still have black plastic bumpers. Notice the front center where the camouflage is torn on both sides. The fog lights appear to be missing. :t-hands:

Angular tail pipes in 2nd pic. Is this the "35is" version?

That's the 50 version. Foglights are behind the camo

I quite like it. The new foglights look good  The black bar in the front bumper is tape, btw

I think it was difficult to improove the nice looking front end of the current one, and on some previous spy pics I noticed the location of the fogs, so I almost knew it.

The fogs are too centred for my taste.

It's good to see our buddy Palbay is still taking pics near Spartanburg, thanks man :D

It's bringing the X5 into line with the X1 and the next X3.
Which will be the next all-new model (not variant , addition or facelift)
