To be honest the Jag doesn't belong there,it doesn't compete in anyway, but does at least sounds good.Really surprised that the E63 has the better steering feel(well done AMG) ,it certainly sounds the best,like the front end and DRL's.

The M6GC(great car) is just an astonishing car ,better looking ,faster,classy interior and best engine and gearbox combo and its not even the competition package ,which would probably make it sound better with Akrapovič exhaust. A car that big shouldn't be that fast,great video from Chris as usual.

I don't know why people assume it is one or the other. Like Chris so aptly put it, it is the whole drivetrain. S63Tu for all the criticism it receives for lack of drama is one of the most flexible and effective engines out there, exotics included. And it has a well matched transmission that exploits that flexibility to the hilt. I showed with graphs how the M5 puts more torque to the ground through pretty much the entire rev range in almost every gear, still every few months people act surprised when the M5/6 is faster. In a straight line, outside of traction limitations, M5/6 will be faster. It is just math and physics.

Oh and btw when I said the transmission failing the Merc I was meaning exactly what you were implying that the M5/6 make more torque per gear than the E63 because if this wasn't the case then the M6GC would have to be making more power than claimed since it weighs an extra 105kgs which is quite a sizeable difference.

Though this still doesn't answer why BMW continue to get this right whilst the others fail this basic of tasks.

Difference 80kg

That was the preFL E63 with performance package. E63S might fare a little better. There are so many damn versions of E63 now, I lost track of what makes how much. But M5s advantage is really at higher RPMS (where the cars will spend most of the time in a drag race) and I doubt that has changed much.

^It's possible with the facelift that they changed with final drive ratio or gear ratios but doubtful.

Based on that 'one' comparison it does indeed seem that the M5/6 holds all the cards.

I have seen all three in person... Not driven it but...

When you see the E class you think oww its not an AMG, bummer...
When you see the Jag, nice but the XR_RS is overdone and the beauty is gone...

But when you see he 6GC, it is a beauty even when its not an M6. I really looks stunning and beautifull.
